That is beside the point. He is protecting the wealth from the looters. He uses his family's fame to bring in looting investors to his mine in Mexico, then it is revealed that there isn't anything of value there. The investors were loot

What are the rules for voting something down? I don't like this, and I disagree with her argument. It feels too weak to fit in here. There is still a lot more racism than I would like to admit, but creating another forum to run in circles

I really liked this sentence I caught. "Launching lets you observe the collision between your presuppositions and the needs of actual users." I know, every word should tell, but I wish it had made it.

A comment on HN a while back suggested that Apple had asked Google not to use a standard jack for controlling the phone. Apparently one of the google execs is connected to apple. It's fuzzy but I think it's at least plausible that they did

Hmm, maybe his goal with this bill is to have something to show the public the extent of the grafting and pork. Then make everything transparent, push them all out of office. I'm starting to like my imagined version of Obama.

And, now that wikipedia has reached a large enough size it can plan out a change to the editorial process without crippling itself. There are some academics who hate wp, but they might be willing to fix a few problem articles out of frustr

Yes but the GPs point still stands. You're an EE, after you've found the brilliant biochemist you have the knowlege framework to relate to her. A non-technical MBA may very well be unable to relate and without someone communicating proper

Perhaps we could let them tier themselves into a trade. I don't think it would be so bad for society. Either they're going to end up in a trade, or worse, or they'll have a chance to realize where they're going early to work themselves ba

On the first thought: I don't see it,they would still have to contend with a growing community of people who mostly want to play homebrew and open source games. On the second: Maybe, but that might be seen as a barrier to publishing a game

Have you considered calisthenics? (I think it's called something else outside the US.) I've been interested in this book, I prefer the idea of using your own body weight. And I don't like the idea of going to the gym by myself. I'm not in

The method a person uses to convey that idea is important. The way it was said, there was likely too much work to be done extracting that simple idea compared to the ideas worth to the parent poster. I think everyone's opinion is that the

Meh, I thought that was the point. I enjoy this forum because others cull through a mass of information to find interesting things. I don't always know what I will find interesting so I choose a group to guide.
