The blogger says that Facebooks usibility goal is different than what users can see so their opinions are short sighted. Facebook is going through a design change in order to build new, non-user, growth. Facebook is becoming more usable f

I find both what ardit and you have said interesting. While I was reading your post I expected you to come to the conclusion that tho only way to stop is to look at things broadly. Within the consequential morality a single cigarette isn'

Thanks, I've heard Zope is huge and that must be the mental overhead you were referring to. I take this to mean that it was at once a large project, but jusdging be the 124 to django and 4 for Zope + Grok I take it that it has fallen out o

I am interested what the HN group's opinion is on Grok. It sounds interesting, but I'm not advanced enough to make proper comparisons.

Thanks, I didn't go through all of it, but I really enjoyed the back story on OCZ. It's great that they would fix their firmware and work with this guy to build a better product. I like seeing that business is really done like that outsid

I'm sorry, it is not clearly implicit to me. I might have been too hung up on whether it should be legal or not. I read his post and think: Yes, it can be legal for the company to censor their own website, and it would not be immoral for it

FWIW, I didn't downvote you. And, upon review, it looks like Nazgul brought up infrustructure, sorry. As I said in my earlier post infrustructure is fine depending on the situation. I believe government works are a necessary evil where we

Maybe you can't create new physics and math, but is it also true that you can't learn to do many useful things with them? I'm not sure. I'd like to think it isn't.

Coding Horror is another case. It frequently reaches the front page and generates discussion. IW does not. IW creates noise on New, Andrews does have a point though. Still, it seems there should be a way to mitigate blatent spamming.

You're changing the subject a bit from micromanagement of smaller more specific interests to infrastructure, which I would expect more people to agree should be regulated, and especially in the case of dams and freeways, should be governmen

I can believe that the leaderboards encourage gaming, but I think post quality is the most important factor. I would not object to charging a karma point for each post though. That might make people think a little more before posting. But

As long as it is mild and transparent I don't mind it. I don't know about the oil industry, but I do know if there is a group reporting to congress on Healthcare I would prefer it to be primary care doctors and hospitalists. I definately

I don't understand why. I'm of the same slight build as a supermodel, but most people aren't and a beutiful "plus size" model will still make them feel ugly. Though at least it would give more girls a reasonable weight goal.
