In the show, Elliot is actually not all that functional. He's debilitated - he can't remember where he's been or what he's done, he's socially awkward and destroys his relationships, and he gets in a lot of bad situ

Even if they gain more shrink/ loss by having customers scan their own items, the reduction in employee labor is almost certainly worth it.

I don't feel singled out. I guess I'm being cynical and hyperbolic. To clarify, without guidance, my own children are often savages and undisciplined brats as well. I'm sorry if you don't like my strong language. The poi

I've never worked for a big company, so this kind of thinking, while not really a surprise, is still kind of shocking. It's unfortunate to be in a situation where you can't be candid and straight-forward with your manager. I

Anywhere in rural America that has broadband. I have reasonably fast/ cheap cable and was able to buy a decent house for ~$80k. That puts my mortgage at around $475 per month. Rent can be very cheap too, especially if you just need a r

I like your approach. Thanks for taking the time to post.

It's not really a huge secret that there are lots of families out there where the parents aren't very involved in their children's lives. I'm not passing judgement on those children at all, I'm simply making the poi

I can understand both perspectives. I'm not really a professional programmer. I started as a kid programming basic on my Apple II, but only dabbled until a few years ago, when I really got into Python/ Javascript/ Ruby. Learn

"don't use XML for anything" This just made me laugh. I'm not making a value judgement about your statement, I neither agree nor disagree.

As someone that doesn't HAVE to use C, this weirdness is one of the things that makes it interesting to me. I'm sure I'm the exception here, and if I were writing lots of C code for big projects I'd feel otherwise.

It's far from a universal law, and while I appreciate the judgement you've passed on my snowflakes, I'm not easy on them and I'm very involved in their development, something that many of their peers don't seem to h

I understand what you're saying but hey, staying home is better than having the shit kicked out of me.

Shootings, stabbings, ass-kickings and all kinds of other shenanigans occurred at my high school. At least in the neighborhood, I can choose to stay home if I wish.

I've argued this many times when "socialization" comes up. So, other undisciplined brats should teach my kids how to behave in society? It's my opinion that children learn much more from their time with adults. It's

Haha ok...I guess technically I'm wearing "over-ear" headphones right now. Hyper-X...pretty cheap gaming headset, extremely comfortable, no flashing led lights or other weird gamer features. Decent sound too.

Do on-ear headphones carry a negative connotation? I wear them because earbuds make my ears hurt after a while.

I love Flask. I'm not a professional but for hobby projects I find it very easy to use. I have a template now and I can get a basic backend going in 30 mins. For more serious projects, we use Flask for big commercial products and work

I was anticipating the end of this election, now I find that the situation is just as bad or worse. I'm not talking about which candidate won, but the vitriol coming from both right and left. The intensity is killing me.

A modified parking garage with simple utility hookups would be a good place to park tiny houses. If you could spring ~5k for a tiny house and $50 a month for garbage collection/water, you'd have a decent situation going. Cheaper t
