The details don't support that assessment. Chain of events: 1) The CLA library requested by the foundation was reported broken by an admin one of the member project repos. That member project repo had refused to turn over control of sa

Didn't say they did. Yes, airlines are run assembly-line style. The linked article mentioned a private jet straying into a restricted area, I was referencing that incident in particular.

Google is an ad company. Presumably they're good at selling ads, they make $18B a quarter. Facebook is also an ad company, with a stellar string of quarterly reports. Apple is a hardware company. The phones are pretty nice. Out of th

We've lost wisdom from ~200 years ago, never mind 2,000 years ago. If you look around architectural preservation forums and publications you'll find lots of examples of people trying to preserve historic buildings and doing more h

It's not so much that you can't fly from VOR to VOR, everyone knows how to do so. It's more that it's a horrible waste of time and fuel. If you have GPS, you will get cleared direct after getting out of congested areas,

I don't know of an approved GLONASS nav unit. Even if you do have one it would be a handheld device that can't talk to the autopilot or the FMS.

There are no more usable NDBs in/around most bravo cities. The last one in DFW was decommissioned about 3 years ago. Any other ones that are still functional are on borrowed time. Furthermore, no one is making the receivers anymore.
