No doubt safer for IFR purposes. I have a little time in a G1000 but a lot more with aftermarket Aspen panels, I put them in my own airplane back in 2014. I had no problem taking off into a fog with 3D terrain in the panel. On old mechanic

I've been through it personally. I had an airplane until 2018 that optionally shipped with a rather unique air conditioning system. Rather than the compressor being engine powered like most other cars and small piston engined airplane

G1000 is overkill for PPL, though. Admittedly I did mine in 2011 so it's been awhile, but I was paying $145 an hour then plus $60 for the CFI, so around $200 per hour all in. Considering you can do 10 hours sim time toward the minimum

The FAA is the hindrance, not anyone flying or selling the airplanes. If you want to talk to the FAA about an engineering approval you're looking at a 6 month lead time before you get an appointment for a meeting . If you are looking

Keep draining until you don't. Pretty common when there's a fog and you get condensate. The tank on a small airplane isn't gonna be sealed air-tight, it's vented to the outside air so a little condensate is pretty norma

tl;dr: private license is gonna run you about $10k. Instrument add-on another $10k (for flying in less than fair weather, it's basically required). You don't have to own an airplane, the above presume renting one ($150 to $200 per

I'd say the vast majority of airparks used to be the town's municipal airport, and the town built a newer one and sold the old one. That's the case where I live around Dallas and we have a lot of them.

Take a look at iocage and the FreeNAS project. They probably have the best implementation of all of this wrapped up into a cloud-like web interface.

I would add to this that certain combinations of modern SSDs (like nvme) can put disk performance equal to or in excess of RAM performance, too, so there are other considerations besides resilience, too. I've seen people do this for DB

It seems to me that an awful lot of money that could be spent on cinder block walls, razor wire, and private security is instead fueling pipe dreams of avoiding those things with some sort of matrix-type escapism. I would bet that they get

Not really. Before there was a "cloud" in the early 2000s, we were paying anywhere from $100 (cheap, low spec machines) to $199 (new hardware, more ram, faster disks) per month for rented bare metal from places like Servermatrix,

Walmart didn't go from mom and pop store to national corporation without an IPO. I'm going by wiki data here, which says they had 18 stores and annual revenue of 9 million in 1968. If they had stayed private they were probably cl

I'd say the author of the article doesn't have a very good grasp of this concept. There is a vast difference between, as she says, "1.2 million" and "20 million." 20 million is "screw you" money. I
