I had never thought about a key of a song being ‘variable’ but being set in stone. Interesting to have a mindset challenge.

I’ve played it a fairly large amount in bands. First time I have heard that it’s in the key of E. Totally makes sense to me especially in the Hendrix version with the semi chromatic bass walk to E.

Thanks for reference. I find music inexplicably easy unti it needs to be directed. If I am just exploring whatever has come out then it just follows a natural path. If I must write to a brief or to another’s melody then that is a different

What? An artist’s work isn’t just once. They ‘lifted’ their fingers to get their skills and then created something unique. Just like coding well isn’t a nice thing but very few coders make anything of their own. They are the session music

As a musician one has to reconcile with the difference between the magic of emotional response and the utility of that. The bigger that utility the more the people who make money from it will pay you. In this day and age it’s the streaming

It's just crazy. Musicians are getting the equivalent of an ad per stream. As a musician/composer that does it for the love I put it many, many hours on each song. Its frickin' outrageous that people get as good as nothing a

I have this idea I’m rolling around and to make it non-capitalist it does need to be funded in some way. Assuming this product fulfilled a human need what is the financial paradigm shift (I mean, who pays for anything these days?)?
