The linked page seems to have trouble recognizing the arrow example. The others I can be a bit sloppy, but that one I have to really slow down and trace (or pretend trace since the guideline inexplicably disappears).

From the comments here, it's fairly obvious that people have multiple conflicting ideas of what 'minimalist' actually means, which makes this blog post moot because no one will ever agree.

It's a useless metric in regard to an individual person's decision to use facebook as opposed to something else. People don't care that facebook has 5 million users, they care that their friends use it. If all/most of their friends starte

500 million vs 1.5 billion is a meaningless metric regarding which social network people will use. They will use the one their friends are using, and no one has near enough friends for those gigantic numbers to have any relevance.

Have you used a Droid 2? They're loaded with bloatware now... it's like buying a Dell PC. I got the HTC Incredible and there isn't really any bloatware on it (some people don't like the Sense UI, but the phone doesn't suffer for it and mo

It bothers me that I have to click the tiny page arrows at the top and bottom, rather than the stack of pages image at the right, which was my first instinct.

From what I hear, it's basically their dev platform for WP7, in the same way that Apple hasn't canceled CocoaTouch and google hasn't binned Android. HTML5 is not the be all end all of the internet (yet).

To all those being critical of the idea, consider this: The only difference between a life with goals and a life without goals is the amount of guilt you put yourself through for not meeting goals. If you live a life with goals but don't m

My one suggestion would be to avoid labeling yourself as an 'introvert' too quickly. I went through most of my childhood/adolescence as the shy/quiet type with few friends and not a whole lot of social interaction, and would have been quic

Right, but that's what I'm talking about. Widgets should never be your language. If you think widgets are your language then you've fallen into the widget trap.

Or you could just allow all of them. If they serve different functions in different situations, the program can just ask which function the user meant. The point is that rather than view the program as a slave that is expected to follow o

One of the issues is that current UIs for computers have very little context information about whats on screen, which would make language based interaction much more convenient. Also, editing a photo is a perfect example of where language i

One of the key things about UI design these days is that it's very easy to fall into the 'widget trap'. This is where you have some content you want to interact with, and instead of really analyzing what the best way to interact with it is
