If you don’t have your phone; if you’re abroad and don’t have SNS; if you’re in a building with no service; if you changed your phone number, they all suck. Also, another valid point is that often times it’s hard to tell what’s a legitimate

Or if you’re just traveling. I’ve been logged out of accounts while abroad and with no access to SNS.

Tried searching for Dota (the video game), and the game’s website is buried by a bunch of SEO spam. It might not even have been crawled because it doesn’t appear on the first or second page.

Since I’ve moved out of the US and started using Line (the message service of choice in my country of residence) I have no idea why the US market continues to cope with SMS. iMessage is confusing. I get constant random authorization request

The site does not work well on mobile. I had to turn my phone into landscape in order to focus the email field.

I hate the word “coder”. It’s such an undermining term. Saying that someone “codes” or is a “coder” is like calling a chief a “cooker”.

Besides using Codespaces for inspecting code, I’ve used it for running some applicants’ submissions a few months back. One of the submissions was built in Java and didn’t use Docker (I guess the person had an aversion to it). I didn’t want

How did your friend convince your friend group to migrate over to Matrix? I’ve thought about setting up one but my group isn’t so much into the “do it yourself techies” or privacy conscious crowd.

I’m glad someone else feels this way. I absolutely hate those YouTube videos talking about the “4K 30min total render” bs. Show me a M-chip MacBook that doesn’t balk when running Docker, or chug when opening a fat codebase in WebStorm. Sure

10 years is also nothing in game development. Games now can take up to 7 years from conception to release, and then there is post release content. Based on the “10 years”, that would mean like what, 1 game out of each series would be cross

I feel the same way. I read one thread where someone was praising the app’s “refined” design. My first thought was, “What are they talking about. The UX is refined because there’s literally nothing here”. It’s just one feature, the MVP, pos

This is how I feel as well. People always say that Mastodon will never replace Twitter because it’s either a) too hard to sign up for, b) no enough people on using it. However, since it’s federated, I feel the easier to find people and post

I want to try VSCodium so much but the fact they use self signed certs leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know it’s probably a whole lot of nothing, but if I install it on my work computer and something happens because of it I would be in a

I’ll literally boot up my Mac to do something with preview even if I’m in the middle doing something on windows. Just did this a few days ago when I needed to combine two PDFs into one.

I've been wanting to self-host a podcast service. This might be a really stupid question, but how do you download the podcasts to your server? I'm guessing it's like an RSS thing, but how do you the feeds?

Why not use something like ZeroTier? I’ve seen a lot of people talking about Tailscale; I’ve been using ZeroTier to connect to my local NextCloud and it works great.
