I currently see it happening with Ruby. I used it as a scripting language for DevOps tooling, CLIs, and for small web apps, but without rails. What I see is Go pushing it out from the DevOps space and Python is more popular as a general-pur

I don't like the proprietary protocol, but actually there is a good reason for this communication between the charger and the laptop. There are multiple charges with the same barrel jack, but different wattage. You plug a low wattage p

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm not questioning why you switched from an otherwise unused technology. Sometimes it's the best way forward. My comment is meant for this sentence: > Also, if you start giving people "1/

You don't give it to 3 random people. You give it to a team which depends on it. It's not a side project because if that breaks your project breaks.

Batteries degrade while in storage and they degrade with every cycle. The best you can do is never store it fully charged. Never discharge it fully. Modern tools never let you do that, but if you store a "discharged" battery it wi

Yes, when you're leaning something you have to constantly refactor. It's part of the fun. You don't have hard deadlines so you don't have to get it right at the first time.

If you want to others use it, then document it. I really appreciate it. Otherwise, if you only wrote it for yourself you did enough. Undocumented code is better than no code. If you didn't publish at all I would have to start from zero

Where it really shines, when you have to manipulate, transform data. You can chain commands as you do with Unix pipes. You can read left to right, and know what is your data structure looks like at each step.

I like Ruby for prototyping and quick throwaway scrips. I can write code really fast in it. Still my favorite language. But reading unfamiliar code or cooperating with others is hard. This is a good step forward in that direction.

I usually have my current project opened in Visual Studio Code at a separate desktop, so I can just swipe right and start coding. If there is an easy task I can complete quickly(not a lot of thinking) to hook me in it is pretty efficient.

The good thing about USB-C chargers, if you break the cable you can just buy a new one. No soldering necessary. I chew through a lot of MagSafe charges in the past few years. I fixed most of them, but you can't disassemble them without
