For most people, taking pictures is done with their smartphone - which is good enough, right! My view is that striving for a perfect shot is counter-productive as you will better reminisce the memories by having taken a random picture of so

Very true, but it's a well-known command so I wouldn't qualify it as obscure! At this point everyone expects `ls` to display a list of something.

Thank you for the examples. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've never used those commands... I'd rather write `docker container ls` than an obscure short-hand alias.

That's my impression, too. While I agree that developers should support and have documentation for hosting without Docker, I think the arguments in the article are very poor. It's completely fine to dislike a technology - hell if

I agree completely with what you've said. I installed Instagram about 2 years ago and I couldn't bear the number of posts from authors that I did not know about on the main timeline. The point of Instagram for me is to see my fr

I'm sorry to be the pessimist here, but I doubt it. HN users are the most likely to use RSS in the first place. I sincerely doubt that RSS is going to make a comeback this year with all my non-IT friends using it.

I'm sorry if this sounds offensive or derogatory. But as a Swiss person, I've never heard anyone call it "Alemannic". Whether it be foreigners, Swiss-French speakers or Swiss-German speakers, everyone called it "Ger

The tracker is just there to help you connect to peers. I wonder if somebody connected to the tracker could know all the torrents that are being shared. But probably not.

I've heard of this, but I don't mind anyone with the tracker URI to be able to connect to it. sqtracker is a full-blown system to run a private tracker with user and ratio management, which is overkill in my case. Others might f

Unneeded; checking "Private torrent" when creating a torrent means that it won't connect you to the DHT.

This is not what this project is about. You either need a tracker or register to DHT in order to connect to peers. Having a seedbox has nothing to do with that; you'd still either of those for your friends to connect to you and downloa

Is there a self-hostable BitTorrent tracker that can run with Docker? I know there's an option on qBittorrent but I don't want my server to run a full BitTorrent client; just the tracker.
