I don't have to restart regularly, but I can agree that it's slower than iOS 3.x, sure. The typing lag is indeed the worst; it was horrid on 4.0 and is occasionally laggy still. I can't figure out why it seemingly wasn't tested on the old h

Yup, 4.0 sucked for the 3G. Kind of appalling QA for a company like Apple to let that slip out. The 3G at that point was two generations behind, seemingly giving Apple no large incentive to fix the performance problems. But you know what?

You know, this totally reminds me of my view on games like Guitar Hero [1]. "Why spend all that time learning how to press buttons when you could learn the real thing!" I would complain. I finally came to my senses one day and realized that

The MacBook Air looks pretty good (SSD standard!), but it s not as cheap (in either sense) than the typical netbook. I run XCode on a Dell Mini 9 with Mac OS X. It has the expected tradeoffs: the keyboard is tiny, resolution too. But it's a

I am puzzled as to why the choice of Android was made (assuming it's true). A company with Sony's background would seem to have the requisite OS experience, and one would they would have learned from the recent lessons of why control over

Surely for a startup this sort of information is not worth $10000? It just seems like you've got so many more important things to worry about than to worry if someone,s going to spend thousands of dollars figuring out how many users you ha

A question about Watchparty: isn't the trend for people to be not watching the same show at the same time? I mean, I can see networks desperate to stop this trend so I could see how some established network might want to acquire you. And

Not sure if this is a terribly relevant article, but I'll note that we actually homeschool throughout a charter school with minimal oversight. What this means is that we're enrolled in the school, they send a teacher out every week to eval

That's funny--I always thought a company that "gets it" would tell you to go home and get some sleep for your own health and for the sake of the quality of the work you're doing.

This seems to me to be ("simply") a failure of marketing. If you can demonstrate value, then you would generally be a deployed solution. But you have to get that message out there, and if your target market is stuck in the stone age SEO isn

You don't have pathological customers, what you have is a large number of people who instead of paying hard currency for a service will trade time as their currency. Look, I'm sure they're very nice people, but their extra time is not goi
