Yes, Firefox memory usage grows without limit over time; but to be fair, so does Opera's. Opera's growth is just less. (These comments tempered with "YMMV".)

I thought it was very common practice to have a [paid] probation period, where the company is free to keep someone or let them go. Usually the period is less than 6 months. That seems a sensible approach to making sure your hiring decisio

It is a cohesive piece of work; they care about appearances (compare default look of Firefox and Opera -- world of difference); it has nearly all of what I need out of a browser (only thing missing is Firebug); it allows MDI (child windows)

Am I the only one that thinks the original author's use of the term cohesion is wrong? I thought the goals were: high cohesion and loose coupling. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cohesion_(computer_science) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cou

How about this instead: I should remain humble, always open to the possibility that I could be wrong, or my work could need improvement; use reason, logic and critical thinking to assess feedback objectively.

If it works in Opera, then it is too CPU-heavy on this older machine. I don't understand what it is, and can't interact with it.

This article showcases that a critical component of attaining fluency in a language is immersion. Many linguists insist that language cannot be separated from culture. Another important ingredient in language learning is practicing output

If someone is already shoulder surfing, wouldn't it be easier to look at the hands and keyboard than at the colour bars and asterisks?

It seems to rely on jQuery, so a Firefox plugin, greasemonkey script, or Opera userjs would need to bundle or src jQuery. Whether or not that is okay I will leave on the table for debate and discussion. :)

Sorry for being dense, but although the clicking and prediction and word selection are just fine, I don't understand how this is used to actually type anything _into_ any place else? I couldn't select the typed text by dragging my mouse, o

I don't have a problem with this thread's title, but I have noticed that a non-negligible number of HN titles of late have been poorly chosen (i.e. fail to convey the gist of what is being linked to).

FWIW: http://www.numberempire.com/equationsolver.php says -1/4. It will only give 11/3 if you explicitly put parentheses: (x-3)/(x-1)=(x-4)/(x-5) . So I believe Bing's result is correct. Based on elementary school order of operations,
