This was really well done. I'd just like to point out a few things, as someone who's watched Inception way too many times: 1) It is never said that 3 levels is the maximum depth of a dream until Limbo occurs. My interpretation has always be

Actually, the "regular consumer" has no idea that Firefox even had version numbers to begin with. Iterating quickly with nearly automatic updates was a huge step in the right direction.

By "link directly" we mean that a subreddit devoted solely to NSFW content appears as a default in a list of ones to browse from the moment the app is launched. You've always been free to add specific NSFW subreddits that you know about aft

For any curious devs: the distinction between this and the reason why web browsers (like Chrome, Dolphin, or Firefox) aren't banned, according to Google at least, is direct linking. An app is allowed to "browse" to NSFW material, but cannot

It took me five years (and counting) to get Vim to a place where I'm happy with how it looks and functions. ST2 gives me that out-of-the-box, and it's improving constantly.

I mistyped my original response. 1 million daily pageviews is still 10/second. The rest of my post remains the same, so 30 million monthly pageviews can easily be handled with 10 or so servers.

Uh, what? 1m pageviews a month is about equivalent to 10/second. A single app server can handle that easily. Add on a redundant app server, two database servers, and some static/queue/mail ones, and you're looking at 10 servers _tops_ for t

I don't understand the comments from people on the blog wanting them to rush this feature and get it in ASAP. Like they mentioned, you still have Basecamp Classic. There's nothing forcing you to move to the new Basecamp before they take the

This looks like a great redesign overall. I'm still not entirely sold on how sheets are any better than breadcrumbs, other than being a different UX implementation of the same concept. But I'll adopt a wait-and-see attitude. Playing around

Sorry to break it to you , but scaling isn't hard anymore. The tools we have at our disposal today makes it trivial compared to companies attempting to do the same thing 5-6 years ago. As soon as you figure out the scaling from 1 -> 2

Just to play devil's advocate here: for almost everyone in the non-techie general population that I've seen use the Internet, Google's search bar IS the address bar. They want to get to Facebook? They type "facebook" into Google and click t
