You can be proud of whatever you like. The problem was you declaring that your ethical system was universal. Most of our ancestors had no problems personally killing and consuming animals. Your abhorrence of the practice is not universal.

I only reach Stack Overflow from Google so its value to me in regulating answer quality is limited. The main thing it did for me was remove bad answer aggregators (expertsexchange and friends) from the front page of Google results.

Knowing a defense has weaknesses doesn't make it worthless when it takes extra effort for an attacker to exploit that weakness. There is no proven secure consumer OS (I'm including common userland apps in that) so things like ASLR

I've refused to get into any Google product beyond GMail, YouTube, and search. I'm trying to ween myself off Google search and I block YouTube cookies (though I doubt that throws Googles behavioural monitoring off).
