I find that web frameworks focus so much on CRUD and not enough on business logic. We usually end up with either fat models or fat controllers, neither of which is ideal or practical. Symfony2 (php), however, offers something they call Serv

I gave it some thought before replacing the title. I'm confortable with what I came up with because the new title echoes both of the article's main points, while the original focuses a bit too much on the "unhackable" side and is, frankly,

Nice. Now if only they updated their desktop monitor range too, that would be something. They're all stuck at 1080p regardless of size.

Banner ads are a relic of the 90s. I fully expect facebook to discontinue them eventually. Because who cares if ads don't work? GM just endorsed sponsored content (to the tune of $30M, no less), a form of advertisement facebook can easily s

Go to rubyjax. Chances are you'll meet people who also code python. Even if you don't, it'll probably be an interesting event anyway.

Great job! Also, thanks for the pointer to Glyphicons. I'd been looking for just that sort of icon set.

Indeed. Maybe it's actually a metaphor for cool free apps and what happens when the startup behind them gets acquired?

I have to say, that Android Design minisite is full of useful nuggets of information on app design. It's worth a look regardless of your thoughts on Roboto.

Here in southwestern Europe most people live in apartment buildings. Their design is usually guided by cost concerns, developed and approved by people who never set foot in them. As a result, most of us end up living in apartments which don

This is what a car manufacturer's website should look like in 2012. I'm tired of looking at flash "loading" screens and 12px type. This looks like a startup's site, in a good way.

Vasco, can you please point me to that website? I'm researching online payment solutions in Portugal and would love to see that implementation. Thanks.

Even with a "mute" checkbox, it stands to reason that a hack that grants access to the mic will also at least attempt to bypass the "mute" setting. So, without a hardware solution, there's no real way to secure the mics on these macbooks. P

Sorry to see it go. Though I never applied to a job with tinyproj, I liked the way it worked. It was simplicity itself. We'll see how GroupTalent goes, but I'm not thrilled at the way their filter works. Anyway, good effort Kyle! # Edit: By

Thanks for the feedback. I know what you mean. It's not quite what you'd expect from a web product these days. I actually had doubts about making this available to the public, at first. It was just a tool I wanted for myself, and a grim one
