In my experience, in small/medium/big companies, I am sorry to say, but most middle “managers” are what Steve Jobs referred to as “bozos”. They are either professional managers who have only managed but never did anything else, or

At work? For those lucky enough to have chargers at work, good luck when fighting for one. Also, I really hope the world keep shifting towards remote working; I won’t drive to the office just to charge my car.

Google lacks of focus. They should take a close look at what company they want to be in the next decade and more. And yes, they should radically restructure their system of incentives. Clearly the one they have in place does not work. They

Yes and no, very much depends on landing in the right team with the right manager. That's why it is important to realize it asap, and move on if that is not the case. So that you don't waste your time. I also find very important

My usual timeline at a new job requires an average of ~6 months to be effective. After that I work hard the next year or so on leading projects and major features. I try to build my network of influence by contributing to cross-team proje

I define myself a backend engineer, I am not super skilled in javascript and frontend framework. That said through out my career I did some front end work and I went from jquery, angular, react and vue. I must say that Vue was the one libra

That's what happens when you incentivize wealthy people to move in and buy houses in masses. Price rises and locals struggle. Same happens when states competes to get the next big co HQ in town. It's a double edged sword.

True, but one should ask why was cross app tracking allowed to begin with. I think that should have never been allowed.

Google major revenue stream is and will always be search/ads. Everything else is marginal, irrelevant and that’s why I think they don’t care much. I still can’t explain how Google got beaten at their own game (cloud / computing at

Isn’t the purpose of any business to minimize cost while maximizing profits. As long as there are people willing to pay the price, you can’t certainly blame the seller.

These days I’d probable take a closer look at spanner. It is a consistent and scalable db. It makes life much easier for developers. Like Cassandra, dynamodb requires the data model to be designed very carefully to be able to get the max ou

I already limit screen time for my kids at max 1h a day. You can image how can I feel as parent, seeing my kids spending hours in the freaking metaverse with screens and headphones pretty much embedded in their face. Not gonna happen.
