"Cross platform games don't really run well" Leaves the question who is to blame completely out. And as a consumer I couldn't care less why it doesn't work. I paid for it, it doesn't work: I am not recommending

Can you no longer disable updates on a per game basis? You could do that in the past and I did occasionally for single player games because my internet connection wasn't the best and I did not want to waste the little time I could allo

Ref counting is also no GC by the definition of a GC I was brought up with. But yes, I was also thinking about the borrow checker. Not necessarily in Rust, as other languages start to adopt similar techniques.

There is also non manual, non GCed manual management. I agree that a GC can be a viable implementation of memory management though.

This, so much this... I signed up for Claude over a week ago and I totally regret it! Previously I was using it and some ChatGPT here and there (also had a subscription in the past) and I felt like Claude added some more value. But it'

I mostly see two extreme positions: Either AI is a total fraud, completely useless (at least for programming), or it's deus ex machina. But reality has more than one bit to answer questions like "Is AI a hype?" Despite only r

I find it interesting that there is this sentiment that humans have forgotten to listen to their bodies and at the same time there is this other sentiment that you shouldn't trust your body. What I mean: I have Morbus Meulengracht and

All the talk about passkeys boils down to: A passphrase is basically like a password in the sense that I can lose it, but it's not like a password in the sense that I can actually memorise it. (Or rather, all of them) I prefer my passw

The creator is an incredibly nice and bright person. I love to talk to them at various meetups and one can feel their love for the language and the intricate design of it. It's a bit sad it's such a niche of a niche language.
