There's emotional distance and there's physical distance. I have been very close to people who are now very far from me. The fact that we don't get to speak often these days says nothing about the quality of the bond. Still v

I'd actually be interested in some statistics for this; maybe an automated tool that scans my phone and tabulates how much I've paid for apps? In any case, I definitely have dozens of $0.99 apps. You're correct that they'

I agree with the lack of trial apps but you're crazy if you think people will pay $20 for apps like Dark Sky. The problem with apps is that there are so many: I have > 100 on my phone, while the average user apparently had 41[1] and

Can't find a good holistic reference off-hand, but you're looking at focal series reconstruction (or, if you're using specialised equipment, holography) to recover phase information of your wave. That can then be used to reco

There are some really clever techniques out there for recovering the imaginary parts actually, at least in a similar domain (transmission electron microscopy), but they're still somewhat new.

Flip-side on the IAP suggestion: I despise ads, but if I have an app with ads I can't bring myself to buy an in-app purchase to remove them for an app I probably won't use that often. Whereas if the app was just $.99 to start with

The Landauer limit [1] is relevant here. Even if you could theoretically make a processor that does it, it would take about 30 gigawatts of power for 1 year [2] to just do 2^128 bit flips (this is obviously a lower bound since it disregards
