It very much is. All it can take is a single comment by someone on a popular sub to have someone click their profile to read more, stumbling upon more of the same affirming content.

Meh, I know of at least 3 ex-friends that came across enough content on Reddit to “push them over the edge.” I.e. they literally “credited” Reddit for their “enlightenment.”

Potentially because you came off a bit aggressive, and because he already explained[0] that they had an analyst looking into this. [0]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=19759411

What? That doesn't seem likely, given that in almost all scenarios you're assigning copyright to your employer..

This is exactly the perfect scenario for the usage of DMCA... Not abuse, but exercising rights to code they literally own.

In this scenario, one might not watch Channel 4 for a reason, so asking for that reason is sensible. “User A doesn’t watch channel 4, this is what they think about it.”

And if somebody was wanting to kick a hornets nest, that’s exactly how you’d want to write it :). My point is, you cannot just blindly trust anonymous comments to be who they say they are, it’s an easy way to get yourself in trouble.

As per point 6, I wouldn’t take what was said there as a statement from Google, or potentially even an employee of Google. They did it as a throwaway .. anybody wishing to kick the hornets nest could have posted that, employee or not.

And then you also get to deal with DO losing entire clusters of Spaces, for a week+ at a time with no timely status updates. That was great ..

To me, another company needs to step up and try to compete in the same sector. The problem is that the alternatives, like Sucuri and Stackpath that are reasonably cheap are _terrible_. I deal with both on a day to day and it’s horrendous to

That’s been my experience reporting any kind of bug with the PHP core team. It really is a pain in the neck.

It depends on who you ask. I think it’s a major positive because I’m not getting filtered 53 traffic now.

I use chromium, Widevine and the related sites work just fine here.

Edge and Safari have the appropriate tools to deal with DRM, so significantly different. The built in browsers already just work.

No, honestly then we would’ve just had more plugins like Silverlight/Flash. Widevine helped, in part, to get rid of all of that.

The congestion control is less likely on the server side, whereas congestion control on an ISPs network is much more so.

The problem with your line of thinking is that even that can be manipulated with meta tags and what have you (oembed, etc) and that’s what Google would argue in court.

Kind of in poor taste given what your employer has done to block the Archive Team (in this thread at least).

They ended up turning a profit year after they dropped Unity and the team involved, I believe. But otherwise, Shuttleworth definitely does reinvest most of the profits.

Eh .. while Debian is non profit Canonical most definitely is not. While they reinvest a ton of their profits back into Ubuntu, as far as I know they’re still in it to make money.

An Ask Me is a selection on the screen for an option that can’t be added as a customization. It’s to “ask the counter” for what is wanted. Like a bunless burger or what have you.

Tl;dr: probably not. But we're not lawyers, and Google/Bing has enough to be confident that it isn't.

Just ask for a fresh batch, they'll do an Ask Me (same as before) and they aren't nearly as annoyed if you let them know you're aware it'll take longer.
