A TOS doesn't stand up to law but also it goes beyond that. Even if you don't use Robinhood but you were holding GME you are affected by this move. It's securities fraud and market manipulation at its finest.

I want to believe this but by and large it seems the media is unsurprisingly siding with the hedge fund side of things. Mainstream media clearly works for the elites.

Countless times I've seen users on Hacker News mock DeFi and crypto for recreating the same financial instruments that we already have. I hope today has shown people just how much we need to recreate these instruments (and more) in a d

This article addresses an issue I currently have but doesn’t actually address how to fix it. I recently set up a simple homeserver to use as a testing ground for sideprojects before eventually porting them to a cloud service. As a result I

The idea is solid; we need better tools for onboarding new employees both in-person and remotely but this seems like an unfinished solution so far. The home page has no company name or logo anywhere which leads to a sparse looking navbar. A

I understand the justification for having restrictions on who can be vaccinated but part of me thinks this is all extremely counterproductive. Yes, old people are at greater risk but also the more young people are vaccinated the harder it i

People are going to focus on discussion with COVID but to me the big takeaway from this great article is the lessons not learned. Whenever discussing stagnation or regulatory deadlock in the US the default response is to handwring about the

Just adding on that many SA countries did not have stringent lockdowns like China. My family is in Brazil when they “locked down” recently and nothing was locked down at all.

What's really interesting is that it's not so clear cut. Introverted leaders tend to outperform when they lead extroverts and extroverted leaders tend to outperform when they lead introverts[1]. [1] https://en.wikipedia

You need to understand the point of money in the first place. For most of human history economies were structured around trade without money. You would trade spices for cattle and things like that. Once we started mining gold and silver it

While I'm not certain, I have a feeling the new GSuite logos and the release of Web Stories were decisions made by MBA's and not engineers.

I think the ability for humans to build seemingly straight-forward and simple tools or building blocks that other humans then go on to create insanely complex things like this with is what sets us apart from every other species in existence

This article gets a lot wrong. For one, it calls Rupert Murdoch and Betsy DeVos VC and I think that's a real stretch of the term VC. Everyone likes to point out Theranos as an example of Silicon Valley Hubris when in reality no respect

It's interesting how people don't seem to understand this. For the majority of people, dealing with banks is no big deal and in-fact, preferable because the bank abstracts a lot of things most people don't want to deal with.

This is definitely what I would consider as an edge case (at least I'd assume so). I agree that 30% seems aggressive but something like 10-15% seems more normal imo.
