I used to work at a place like that, it was incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. So I came up with a solution that works even if S3 is blocked: I built https://github.com/OkGoDoIt/UploadAndPaste and set up SCP f

Define consent. Because I’m pretty sure the only outcome of this will be some new language tucked away in the fine print of every customer’s monthly bill giving consent unless they cancel service or something like that.

I used TurboTax for Windows for the first time this year to do my taxes. Since I don’t trust them as a company, I set firewall rules to block all internet access to the program and all its other helper programs. It refused to run until I co

Everything is a leaky abstraction at some point, the question is how much of a pain is it once you do need to dive underneath? Personally I’ve found debugging and dealing with anything non-standard in React to quickly turn into a huge mess

Yes, 100% this. I've been trying to articulate the annoyance I have with modern front-end development and this hits the nail on the head. Does anyone know SF companies that take this attitude? I've been interviewing all over at

That seems to be a common attitude with front-end devs these days, to the detriment of web users. The performance impact of React, Angular, any other heavy frontend SPA framework is immense. Plus the extra weight required to get back to f

It’s worth noting that many smart locks nowadays have flat capacitive-based keypads, which even I as an able-bodied adult have issues pressing accurately. I used to live in a place with a main door that was a smart lock and I loved it, now
