90% of websites have built-in keyboard shortcuts for switching theme? We must visit different wevsites. I use an extension for that.

Windows 8 was when Microsoft tried to cater more towards Windows-on-tablet use cases. Which lead to everyone, including desktop users, having a fullscreen phone-style app menu take the place of the old start menu. This, for desktop use, is

I didn't say it was resolved, I said it's about a piece of software which is called "resolved" which is one of many programs belonging to "systemd". It's a program which handles DHCP and DNS I believe. And

Well, seeing as you're not even responding to me, just previous people you've interacted with I guess I can't really say much. But I will say that I ask specifically about the Fairphone because I've met many ethical, ant

Your scenarios seem to hinge on OSS having lots of warts while proprietary software is perfect. In reality you have to also make concessions with proprietary software, so the moat is not as large as your comment makes it seem imo.

Pretty sure the US has had things such as age ratings for movies, which are enforced when possible, and laws around advertising to children and false advertising for quite some time. I miss the good ol' days when you could see some cut

This was the D drive though, not root, ie C drive. So rm -rf would happily delete it all.

Yeah, rm -rf. If you decide to let a stochastic parrot run rampant on your system, you can't act surprised when it fucks shit up. You should count on it doing so and act proactively.

If I could choose a single game to experience again, it would be Outer Wilds. I played it with my partner, streaming it over Discord, and it was a truly amazing ride, start to finish. Loved the DLC as well. Hearing the theme still gets me e

Heh, sorry. Someone else asked for a list so I made a short one, figured I'll send it here as well :) They range in obscurity, but I'd not rate any of them as "mainstream". In no particular order and in no way an exhaust

Hmmmm, sure. I'm not sure if I'd label them "obscure", they've all got a couple 1000 reviews on Steam. But they're certainly not mainstream to the level of my previously listed games(, with Disco Elysium not re

Games these days, just as before, are fantastic. Outer Wilds, Disco Elysium, Expedition 33, Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring(Nightreign), etc. And I've not even listed quite a few of my favorites cause they're not popular enough f

Exact same thoughts here. This should, imo, be marketed at boardgame nerds, who are adults, and not 3-7 year olds which it seems to currently be. Which toddler is asking for this for christmas? I suppose a boardgame nerd might buy it to use

They clearly just want the option to say yes/no to the downloads, hence the use of the word "nonconsensual". Seems like a reasonable ask.

I recently switched to hyprland but before that I was running a mixed HDR/SDR, mixed VRR/no VRR, mixed refresh rate setup with icc profiles applied under KDE wayland. No issues here tbh.

I believe this is one of the main contributing factors in people who strongly prefer iOS devices over Android as well. With iOS, there are no options really. You buy high end or you don't buy. With Android, people will end up buying so

Man, that's is some hardcore "think of the children" bullshit. Things which protect people will inadvertently also end up protecting some bad people. The only solution to that is killing all humans.

Historically color e-ink takes a DPI hit even on B&W workloads. Perhaps they solved it, but then why such a small price delta?

In my country the availability is very poor for CDs, unless I wanna spend loads of time hunting for used ones maybe. But that's far more time than I'm willing to spend when I can just pirate it. I'll gladly give them my money
