English is my native language too. Eventually they stop assuming haha. You can pay for an online tutor which I found got me rather far. After like A2 they wont speak English with you anymore (if you ask em too). You do not need to speak to

You can absolutely learn a language even if you don't need to. But it's just a lot harder. I have done it and know many people who have done so too. It's frustrating and slow, but if you figure out a system that works for you

I don't know. Literally every single person I help with tech support makes me doubt this is possible. People do not care in the slightest and treat suggestions to learn basic digital hygiene as if you've asked them to a computer s

Lekker man. Although I speak it often, I could use an LLM to help me progress as I've been stuck at my current level for about a year and typing it is not something I enjoy. I find no greater joy than listening to a TTS model say Poes

Surely they can't just keep getting away with this? If I did any one of these I'd be in jail lol (and by god, probably for a very long time). You can't just form a company and accidentally hack people and claims whoopsies.

2nd hand Garmin or Apple Watch. These things are basically being thrown away and watches like a Gen 6 AW or a Fenix 5 can be found for so little money and they work very well even today if you only care about sports tracking. I personally c

I also thought so but in my case the keyboard worked somehow. And I had not previously trusted it. Perhaps there was something else I did, but it worked on it's first plug in.

I just had this nightmare yesterday. Water damaged MBP so just the power button worked. You can use any keyboard during recovery mode. But not connect BT devices (technically possible via some secret screen but it was stuck on a loading loo

This is quite exciting. Sol for me has been the absolute best model yet. I find myself using it 95% of the time even though I have access to Fable. Is the speed the same as 5.6 sol?

lol I remember a senior dev absolutely shitting on me for suggesting de-normalization to improve a JOIN query that was absolutely way too slow (on a table that was reseeded on deploys at that). I left it at that but to this day I maintain t

Migrating a test suite is exactly the kind of work that LLM's excel at beause it's extremely easy to verify (I mean that is the nature of them lol). With enough budget this seems a rather reasonable and fun task.

Tested on a dev env (t3.nano) with a rather challenging query (500 rather evenly distributed items) on a file with ~70m rows w/ about 576 row groups. version 1.4.4: 31.89s preview: 4.42s

Yeah this was the attitude back in the day and I know some older guys with this mindset but the science on this is pretty clear. It’s definitely one of, if not the most, currently focused on aspects of endurance sports outside of the actual

People bonk because they're not eating enough DURING the ride. I'll eat (actually mostly drink) like 120-200g carbs on longer rides. Record is 700g during a 200km ride. I've seen big guys bonk too. It has very little to do wi

I think this is easy to say as a healthy eater (I am one too, always have been). However, unlearning a lifetime of bad habits is hard. But yeah, it's costing nations billions that could be better spent.

Ha what a memory. In HS we started with Java, then the education department (I assume) tried to force us to switch to Delphi, and we had to learn about RAD development methodology, etc, and then, very randomly, we swapped back to Java. I th

You'd think, but I have 4 friends who have been diagnosed, and they all have horror stories. This is in 3 countries, none of which are the US, but from reading Reddit, it seems the US has the same issue.

+1 on this being a great idea. I also need to learn how to write in German (I can speak at B2 and read C1, but I find writing difficult as I've never bothered tbh). The added benefit of avoiding Claudisms is interesting. I think I'

Honestly don't even know how to feel about this regulation. I think in principle I like it. If one uses AI to generate content on a topic and is not actually checking its accuracy, why not force them to label it. What practical benefit

I also find this frustrating. Every time I want to add an app to Github, it defaults to org wide. So far, I've managed to keep the reins on that, and nobody has made a mistake, but I am just waiting for the day someone adds something o
