HTTP 2 also does connection coalescing. Why are you quoting text instead of a specific concern? QUIC has been around for over a decade now

How do you imagine other protocols handle switching physical connections? With HTTP 1, you send your session ID as a cookie after wasting time creating a new TCP connection

The ones that send light through your finger and measure it on the other side are much more accurate than the ones that bounce light off your wrist like the Apple Watch. That said, they both work. This is easy to verify by holding your brea

I explained why you don't need to tip before delivery; your food will just arrive 5min later. Ignore the replies making up fake consequences. He's clearly never used doordash.

Where in the US? In California if you quit your job you'll get free healthcare and ~$300/mo in food on your EBT card. You only have to be wealthy enough to pay rent. Median net worth in the US is $200k which can last quite a while

In the bay area we're talking 25min vs 30min. It's a pretty simple auction: The price increases until someone accepts. The driver has no idea how much you tipped. Note the implications: If every driver in your area accepts orders

What's the point of working in finance if you don't make enough money to quit and try something new for a couple of years? You make it sound like his job only pays a little more than flipping burgers.

NYC and California are 10% of the US population and I'd be unsurprised if the two make up 50% of the food delivery market. Flyover states aren't dense enough for drivers to drop off 3 orders on the way to your home and the median

> tipping always led to worse delivery success rates What does this mean? If you don't tip on doordash in the US, your order just arrives a few minutes later than usual since the auction starts at a lower price and drivers will reje

Look at the sibling replies. All the kvetching comes from blogs and simple websites, not the ones that consume compute per request

How exactly can a blog get swamped? It takes ~0 compute per request. Yes I'm claiming this is a fake problem

We have hot pluggable I2C at home. Every HDMI port (and pretty much every DP port with a passive adapter) has I2C on the DDC pins. The port also provides 5V 50mA so your MCU doesn't need external power. Example: https://www.

Last time I saw someone complaining about scrapers, they were talking about 100gib/month. That's 300kbps. Less than $1/month in IP transit and ~$0 in compute. Personally I've never noticed bots show up on a resource grap
