How is it insane? Do you think factories don't have 2000 total pieces of equipment that go into manufacturing widgets? Quantity of moving parts is a nearly worthless metric on its own without describing the scale and complexity of thos

It is in fact the opposite, because it sets the bar at that level understanding that people treat Tesla’s autopilot in the same way . Tesla just hide their relatively lower capability behind a legal out. People do not care what “level” the

The million-dollar question now is how it managed to recover after plummeting 2/3 its altitude, only to do so again shortly after? That shows that it was still operable and could aviate, and opens up many more questions. https:/&

tl;dr about 5%, if you take very conservative values. I decided to do the maths at a very basic level. Nimitz class carriers produce about 1100MWth between their two reactors. Gerald R. Ford classes put out about 1400. There's 10 of th

In breeding season, magpies are notoriously territorial. To the point where cyclists all over Australia have zip ties tied to their helmets to act as spike-like deterrants to swooping magpies. They would absolutely ruin a drone in about 3 s

Teams is moving away from electron in v2.0, which may go some way towards slimming down the client but won't solve any of the architectural issues that come with a lack of focus. https://office365itpros.com/2021/06

A quick search indicates that a 'puffin crossing' is defined by having smart sensors to detect the presence of pedestrians, rather than a pelican's timer-based system. So you may scurry across the crossing and then sensors im

I noticed this most vividly when seeing Van Gogh's Sunflowers (the 4th, from the National Gallery in London). A high-res scan such as on Wikipedia [1] does no justice to just how textured the painting is. He's clearly applied quit

As other posts have said, the GFW isn’t just a whole heap of blocked IPs. There’s some of that (Google, FB, etc.), but a lot more of it is DPI and other inspection techniques that also have the effect of slowing overseas data to a crawl. In

Foreign SIM cards on globs roaming are not passed through the GFW as traffic is carried back to the ‘origin country’ before being sent to the internet writ large. So IP lookups still think you’re in your original country. I used global roam

Same from my limited experience in China. You use the horn as you approach to overtake someone, change lanes into traffic, etc. to say 'I am here'. It in effect replaces the indicators in many situations.

Fair points all round, but if you specify something as 500 kg/m² I know that you mean 500 kg of mass per m² and so know to multiply by 9.81 to get a force and thus pressure. I know it can’t already be a force, because that’s a newton.
