I think the title was intentionally a little clickbaity but I'm not exactly bothered by it. Clickbaity is a negative when the bait-and-switch robs you of the pay-off. In this case, I think it was overall a more interesting story and so

I'm saying this potentially without base, but I interpret them as making the distinction of 'infected with Covid-19' vs 'having Sars-Cov-2 in your body'. They're not exactly equal, and that distinction potentia

I wonder if, instead of a string match, enough people have searched “Cornelius” and (accidentally, out of curiosity, etc.) played the gospel singer’s songs that it’s algorithmically linked the gospel singer to the other artists these people

I had surgery a couple of months ago and the hospital entry here in QLD had their QR checkin code printed on a novelty-cheque-sized piece of cardboard sitting on an artist's easel outside the entry to the hospital foyer. I could scan

My Diamond Rio PMP300 would play VBR but would shit the bed on displaying duration and seeking because it assumed CBR, as you suggested. When VBR was new, this was a pretty familiar situation and oldschool mp3 encoding standards for share s

Your proposal presupposes that their decision-making is grounded in fact. It is not. Data and evidence have no bearing on their mindset. There will always be a more creative justification as to why it's the wrong thing in their mind. T

It needn't even be in hindsight. There were plenty of us arguing at the time that this was a terrible idea that would lead to problems. From a user interface point of view, it creates a grey zone where it kinda sorta works but not in a
