I can see it now: HewlPackCoin, a crypto coin pegged to the current price per ounce of Hewlett Packard ink cartridges. They seem to synergize well. In theory, if you tweak the parameters correctly, you can print a transaction output equal t

Great concept, but the obscurity of the terminology at times will make this....trying. Plus, it does not appear to validate words nor automatically fill out variants. For me, this was fun until I got past guess 200 or so.

This is fair advice, but this also makes the big assumption that the severance pay will actually be, well, paid. The company is legally obligated, but what happens if they choose not to send a check? What would it cost to hire a lawyer to g

This looks dubious. Let's not forget how many other infinity based logos are out there too. Did they file a lawsuit against them as well? Surely at least one other also overlaps with 'Internet Computer blockchain'. https:&#x

Never trust Google for critical services if you can help it. They suck at customer support of any kind. Once their automation decides something, nothing short of a PR disaster tends to change it. Then there is the ever growing Google Gravey

Anecdotally, my short answer to this is 'no'. At least a Downloads folder has a loosely defined purpose. I have often gone back to try and find something I downloaded that's no longer available (or too big to download again),

While I appreciate what the article is trying to accomplish, I believe it misses some key differences that simplify the comparison: Vector Clocks: Only update on arrival of external Events (new vector: max of other participant clocks, incre

You are making assumptions that the log upload system is working in the first place. It's just another moving part in the equation. Since logging normally shouldn't affect production traffic latency, you usually want to offload r

This was shockingly delightful. I have to agree that house identification is a real pain sometimes for deliveries; it would probably be a step in the right direction if folks could just use an app to get latitude/longitude to clear thi

The factors are latency and assumptions of perfect future data. Their point stands; if your environment ends up 5-10 degrees warmer or cooler than expected, it takes time to course correct, even with a smarter control system.

That puts you at roughly 180 dpi, which isn't that far from the 'retina' standard of roughly 220 dpi. But I imagine I can get you sharp text on a lowly 1080p 20 inch display with Windows or Linux at only 110 dpi (or worse) fo

This goes out the window the moment you attach a second monitor for most folks. 1080p is very common; if we start talking about achieving retina at that resolution (say 220 DPI, a rough average across modern Macbooks), we're talking 10

Have to agree. Font rendering is one of the top reasons I don't favor the Mac experience at all. At least Windows and Linux give me options, and honestly Windows is the only one so far I believe gets the fluctuation in DPIs 'right

Dithering can be applied to any palettesd imaged; in the earlier days of the net, restricted color palettes could indeed help reduce size. Dithering however can interfere with run length encoding (RLE) compression used in certain formats (i
