First, who said anything about profit? That isn't even part of the definition of monopoly. The killer feature none of those you've listed has been able to achieve is the shipping logistics. This enables their vast selection to be

It would hurt them a lot. I mean a lot a lot. But maybe not in the way some think it will. Look back historically at when AWS details were suddenly included in the market earnings around 2015. I encourage you to draw your own conclusions, b

I honestly would have assumed it was more a product of the decline in quality of the platform. AI growth just seems to be "capitalizing" on it.

What happens when that key is stolen or lost? Would it be acceptable risk in your model to allow anyone to use it? I'm not saying you're wrong, but it would be a definitive trade off.

I think there are some legitimate criticisms of Git here. But some of them are...odd. Despite using Git in a variety of circumstances, from a local personal repo project to very large company repos, I admit I haven't run into about hal

If there is one, single redeeming really cool feature of the Quest Pro (possibly the 2 as well, I haven't tried this), it's using your controller "upside down" as a virtual dry erase marker in Workrooms. I just wished th

Eh, I may eat my words later, but unless they are hiding some really big features somewhere, I don't think there's much to worry about with the Vision Pro. It is stylish and neat, but it seems to be shockingly limited both in VR a

That's a pretty flimsy strawman you have there. Can we at least cite some examples of actual disruption, harm, etc. that came to these projects before the law? Or point us to sources backing up their claims?

But don't worry, Windows S2 has you covered! Now that you are in our walled garden, we don't limit things like that at all here; it's 110% safe and trustworthy and never ever ever gets compromised. You won't be able to i

Nice concept, doesn't work like they think it will. Contention, tracking rates for individual programs versus a collective whole, etc. will make this a nightmare to implement. We already have an equivalent today for remote API calls,

You are correct. It is very simplistic, though there are exceptions, and aimed squarely at kids. It's also a petri dish of pay-to-win mechanics that I suspect would make the app stores blush.

Fun fact, Roblox already supported VR headsets on the PC in the past. It was janky and varied widely in comfort of the experience, but it technically worked. I think there are even still a few VR specific experiences out there.

I think this is a valid reason, and hopefully the driving factor. On the other hand, Apple certainly seems to bank on making their devices as exclusive an experience as possible. They sell a huge amount, but they want the customer to feel l

Did they not scan both??? Many big box retail stores have to scan both the box and the barcode of the item through it (i.e. a Playstation) before the transaction can be completed. Yikes.
