At least I am glad to see that Salvini and Berlusconi got such low percentages. They are more populist and demagogic than Meloni.

Buy a 2nd-hand $40 scrap phone, erase it, save a few panorama pictures and a couple of selfies on it and put your SIM card in it every time you are about to cross a border. Then put the card back in your regular phone after that.

Just wait for the next big video sharing service to emerge, hoping that it will not be acquired by a MAGMA too soon.

A possible solution could be to use small e-ink displays showing single-use QR codes that change every 2 minutes or so. I don't know if it would be feasible though or it would drain the battery of the bike too quickly.

In the last few weeks I read several stories here on HN with the same pattern: "company X blocked my/our account and refuses to give any explanation". Just a few examples of X: Google, Oracle, Citibank, and now PayPal. What&#

Imperial units (specifically, feet) are dominant in aviation to measure flight altitude. Despite a recommendation of ICAO to use SI units since 1979, only China, Mongolia and a few former-USSR countries (not Russia) use metres to define fli

I guess kWh counts as metric, as W is SI and h is accepted by SI (as, for example, in km/h). The Imperial unit is maybe the calorie (I'm not sure though). EDIT: According to Wikipedia [0], the Imperial unit of energy is ft⋅lbf. [0

An interesting fact: it has been shown ([0], [1]) that human body movements are performed in such a way as to minimize the jerk, so the jerk is used in robotics to make humanoid robot movements look more natural. [0] https://doi.

Isn't that the acceleration? With constant acceleration (thus zero jerk) inertia makes your coffee move inside the cup – and spill, if you don't pay enough attention.

In Italy the current limit for cash transactions is €2k, but it will be lowered to €1k starting from 2023. [0] (Just for reference, NIS 6k is roughly equal to €1.7k) [0] (Italian) https://bancadiasti.it/senza-categoria/
