The usual sporadic usage of Google now with voice controls, for me, comes from playing music and setting up alarms/reminders. I like waking up in the morning and going "Ok Google, play some music". If I had a more integrated

This assumes that you have an isA and an isB function. This forces me to write such a function which I might not have and in case of very very very large data types (like ~20-30, if not more, constructors) it becomes unwieldy and very messy

I'm intrigued, which one of these problems was fixed? Unfortunately I still have to use 7.8 so it won't help me currently but in the long run it's good to know.

There are a lot of really annoying quirks about Haskell. It is a beautiful language but after using it professionally for a while, some things come to mind that really make me pull my hair out of frustration (although I understand why they

I do things like this all the time in Haskell when quickly prototyping new code and then swiftly kick myself because of it. Safe languages are nice, but there's really no way to prevent a developer from saying "Yeah fuck it, this

You pretty much worked on that tiny 5% of projects that live outside of the monorepo. Good... job I guess? For 95% of engineers that will never happen.

Afaik you cannot submit code that breaks any test in the repo. I mean, there are ways to force it, but unless it's a special case you really don't want to.

You don't need a passport to travel to Dublin from mainland EU. You just need an EU ID card. The fact that it's not in Schengen just means that there are a bit tighter "passport" checks and controls and usually it takes

I had never heard of Twine before, I just had a quick superficial look at it and wow it looks really nice! To be honest I don't know how it compares, my engine is closer to something like Ren'Py but I plan to provide more freedom

Most modern engines, as far as I know, implement a component-driven approach. You can see it in pretty much any kind of public engine like UE or Unity and it works really well. Composition over inheritance any day. I don't really see w
