I think if we sold daily short-term use items with sealed AA/AAA with the amount of sales as disposable vapes, we'd be having the same discussion about AA/AAA batteries now. But we don't. Aside from anomalies like, say,

Not sure what you understand with "common". According to that wiki page, EMAS is installed on 112 runways in the US and there are over 1000 commercial runways in the US (as of 2007: https://www.icao.int/Meetings&#x

Whenever I checked, trains from north Germany to Austria and back were always significantly cheaper on the ÖBB site. It was bizarre.

Site is probably just overloaded and it's not responding properly because of it.

CS 1.6 never required internet to host a LAN-accessible server. It would be trivial to setup and play even today.

Unfiltered first hand accounts on social media. What a joke. We're fucked, aren't we? We take whatever post on social media fits our preconceptions and we run with it. No verifying who it is or how plausible it is. No cross-checki

Having known plenty of extroverts, I don't see how this is true. The discussion here is wrong and at odds with the science I've seen and my anecdotal experience. You can't just decide we're all the same and that some of

As an introvert, I have no idea what you're talking about. As an introvert, talking to strangers is in my comfort zone. Being an introvert has nothing to do with whether I'm able to talk to strangers. As an introvert, speaking up

As an introvert, no. Socializing is always draining. I enjoy being around other people and I enjoy socializing, I like going to parties and meeting people and whatever else, but it's extremely tiring for me. No matter how much I like t

The Russian Buk, S-300 and S-400 largely use missiles with blast fragmentation. For example, see the SAMS section here: https://www.gichd.org/fileadmin/uploads/gichd/Publications/G...

From the bits and pieces I've heard, the problem is one of scaling. Bacteriophages had to be made bespoke for a specific patient.

A lot of projects are "walk before you run". Didn't stop Intel from killing them and wasting all their time, money and effort. That's Intel's problem. I don't want them to kill Arc. It's what they need lon

I wonder how often that one switch is plagued by delays which turn those 15 minutes into significantly longer times, and cause propagating delays throughout the system.

But don't you see? The walled garden makes them feel safe from all the bad people out there. It's like locking yourself in with Rorschach. Yeah, the others aren't gonna get you, but he will.

I'm more surprised that Russia or China haven't attempted to communicate with things like Voyager. Not necessarily to sabotage, but to find out as much as they can about it by interacting with it.
