EVs are just ridiculously expensive, the charging network coverage isn't great, the percentage of single home owners is comparatively low compared to renters of apartments (where there are no charging options), and the government keeps fucking around with the tax credits and rebates. I'm not sure why the perceived reliability outweighs any of these issues.
