Hilariously, years of multibillion dollar losses with no path to sustainability have yet to translate to a lower stock price.

It works for some use cases, I don't mean to imply otherwise. For my use cases... I have more apps installed on my phone than Mobian has in its repository.

The options I know of are the Pinephone and the Librem 5. They're various degrees of open source and secure. They're also slow, lack most software, require constant tinkering, and have terrible battery life. The pragmatic option i

I'm not sure why you've chosen glacier forecasts to pick on. At least in aggregate they're one of the most predictable effects of climate change--look at this mass balance graph [0]. If public communicators said glaciers woul

Enemy of the State was overstated at the time. It resembles 21st century spying programs so closely because the US government used the movie as a blueprint to develop those programs: https://www.nature.com/articles/d415

I'm not sure I see how it even makes business sense. Trying to compete with with Apple and Microsoft by eliminating your strengths to focus on your weaknesses isn't a good play. Gnome and Ubuntu are not and will never be as smooth

They're not public services, they're security theater with no real effectiveness. The skip programs are effectively official acknowledgement of that.

It depends how you have it placed, too. I played on a 2 year old Pro and it was extremely loud, but I have it stuffed in a media center cubby, so it's always suffering from low airflow.

Although "learning styles" are widely believed by teachers, there's no evidence that they affect learning. They're basically horoscopes--vague enough to make sense on an intuitive level, but false [0]. In practice, tailo

The only gesture input the Kinect could recognize reliably was dancing. I don't think that says much about the appeal of gesture controls in a system that can see finer movements. As a counterexample, iOS and MacOS have a lot of gestur

Less than that in double precision. If my math is right, they manage around 0.4 petaflops. Their previous-gen SuperPOD was #22. If they do indeed add four of the new ones that will still put it at #1, with something like 230 petaflops.
