Whole blood donation generally is only allowed every 8 weeks. Double-red blood cell donation is allowed every 16 weeks up to a maximum amount per 12-month period. I believe Plasma can be safely donated every 4 weeks. Doesn't tell you

We are down pretty deep into pedantry at this point, but... Current definition is that someone who has committed a crime and been convicted is a criminal. If that crime is a felony, they are also a felon. Depending on the state of residence

As far as I can tell, they had stale dns records pointing at IPs that were eventually used to run scammy web servers. I couldn't find any connection to a breach. The author does correctly point out that the CSP headers were overly perm

I was surprised to find carykh's video is over a year old now! This has so many applications, I'm surprised it's not already common.

Apple is no longer selling the original magic keyboard, so those are the right product. They are wireless, and charge with a lightning cable. They will also present as a USB HID when plugged in via USB/lightning, so they can be used wi

Most homes have multiple cars. A single high-end car could support multiple homes without the grid for over 24 hours. So I think even at adoption rates under 5% you would see enough capacity to shave those peaks and make it easier to respon

I don't get why we have buttons for climate. It's asinine. Are you hot? Go ahead and press the down arrow 20 times to go from 80 to 60. Maybe it's not so bad if you switch your car to Celsius. Or, with 50-year-old tech, turn

The author does not even bother to mention which video, which browser plugins he is using, or even what domain he is on. I am skeptical of these claims with no attempt to reproduce. I would like to know if another browser would show the ori

Precisely. Yet it is completely normal in American medicine. And worse, the actual patients are rarely aware of the total amount billed or paid because their insurance company handles it.

Sure seems like they are hiding something. It should be impossible to make a pressure sensor read 100% instantly. It would normally take 1/3 of a second and you would see the value increase gradually. Will autopilot even let you floor

Ugh. That sounds terrible. In switching from private to public in California schools, I had a similar experience. Grade 3 was private, grade 4 public. There was little learning happening in grade 4, but my grade 5 teacher at a public school

It seems strange to me to think unfavorably about US workers’ rights, then about China in the same minute. About your point, if an international incident isn’t a legitimate reason to fire someone, I don’t know what is. And by extension, wha

Yes, it seems the open rate should be attributed to the subject line or the a/b split parameters more than the design... And with the open rate that significantly affected, all other metrics would be skewed as well.

I'm a layman, but my mental model suggests that tidal-lock would be the relationship that raises the energy most on the receiving body. An example of that concept would be Mercury. A tidally-locked body would have nearly 50% of its ar

I have a 4k monitor (LG 27UD88-W) that supports USB-C input. The 12" MacBook drives it at full resolution at an unusable 15 Hz. It drives the screen at 1080P resolution at 60Hz. The laptop charges from the monitor's power supply

It would be criminally negligent to use GPS for any control decisions in a self-driving vehicle. Aside from wishy-washy long term tasks like what route to take, or which street has traffic, GPS simply cannot be used. GPS can fail, be jammed
