I unironically feel like the best way to communicate with co-conspirators would be through snail mail, if you could put up with the delay. Oh, and don't forget to do all of this while not altering your normal habits at all, because sud

Yeah, it's insane how quickly this changed. I'm 33 and I started programming as a child and that's very unusual in my age group/a bit older. I had a father who knew BASIC, the official HTML, CSS, and JS documentation, an

This is why I rotate my social media/news consumption habits every couple of months. I go from right to left, select a particular bubble to wade into for a while. Then I stop. Switching up your bubbles on purpose makes you more aware o

It's hard to know whether my experience or Tao's is more representative. There's selection bias going on with regards to people's conception of a typical child prodigy since people are going to be more aware of successfu

Eh. It depends on the kid and their circumstances. I was a child prodigy (I'm a much less impressive adult), and since I was from a rural area with divorced parents without much time for me, I spent plenty of time in 'normal'

I never understood opting for music. MRIs are so loud; the last thing I want on top of it is competing noise. How is that not sheer cacophony?

I get an MRI once a year and I frequently fall asleep because nothing puts me to sleep like mechanical white noise. It's kind of a problem because I try to move or jerk awake, which ruins the MRI. My MRIs take forever. I feel terrible

I hope that the episodes are properly archived somewhere so that in the future when our emotions cool, we can examine this more objectively. Spotify may have the legal right to pull the episodes, but this clash has cultural significance and

I work for a company that's related to politics and we use DW and the maps are so good for us. It's also great for non-tech savvy people; everybody at the company can use it, which frees up tech staff's time for other stuff.

Thank you for this. I often feel poorly about myself because I've created so little (especially since leaving school), but between 13 and 31 I didn't have financial stability or basic safety, and even now I'm a disabled perso

I'd also put some video game art in this category. Translating art from the real world to the screen loses the awe, but art created for a digital environment can easily awe.

Ha, I had a very nerdy upbringing. My grandfather was obsessed with TVs and ran a side repair business, and then in turn my dad got into micro-computers and PCs. On my mom's side, we've got a bunch of engineers and sci-fi nerds.

I'm your polar inverse: I'm 33 but started coding when I was 4, I've just never worked as a developer (at least not on a team; I've done freelance), and I'm debating making the jump as inflation starts creeping up.

Best hope you don't get sick. And nobody in your family gets sick or dies. That was my plan until I got MS at 26. Oh, and hopefully everything progresses as you foresee. For example, I chose a college (back in 2006) and borrowed 2k my
