It just looks as if people have been storing their info insecurely. Sometimes people will only learn if they get burned.

Dragging and dropping to make playlists would be nice. Scrolling seems beyond fucked up, can't get right back up to the top of a search screen any more. And I can see the scroll bar but can't move it manually.

I read the article as stating that Microsoft provide national security services with the ability to tap Skype in different ways. It's not that the Russians have figured some special hack out as I naturally inferred from the HN submission ti

Came in expecting a prescriptivist ranting about the roots of our language and got a fairly level-headed rant at language loons prescribing things wrongly. I enjoyed it. All living languages are subject to continual change anyhow, that's th

"celebrated for his strident opinions on the Christian and Jewish Gods" I think you nailed it on the head there. Dawkins doesn't delve into Islam much. And you're right it's probably a survival instinct. Christianity and Judaism are fully e

"Uses words from your sent and received email messages to display targeted ads." I like this, I prefer relevant ads to irrelevant ones. "Scans the content of your entire inbox to identify themes and trends for ad targeting." Again great stu

I think I fit into this demographic myself, (although I think a pro might have better advice from their view on high) and I've found that my laptop's SSD is perfect for organising my photo collection. I'll often be shoving around a few hund

Way to go Microsoft, wasting my time again! Jokes aside, Microsoft should know better than to host a video slandering Google on Youtube. Schoolboy error 101.

Nice idea until spammers just make bots that idle on your site and follow a few links before and after signing up.

This started off okay, well I'll never predict an Apple product to fail, that'd be dumb based on points 2 and 3. But then after 4 it went way off the mark. I would never purchase a sub-standard, expensive product for a friend or myself. Don

Just because people have started using it a lot, doesn't mean it's their favourite, it might be their favourite for another reason, like the alliteration of correlation and causation. I mean come on, correlation doesn't imply causation afte

Well no. But you wouldn't write a letter to those people about Chrome or Firefox would you? And also it's an option for Chrome and Firefox afaik. Whereas it's on by default in IE. Hence the letter.

They described it in 1988, they predicted it's widespread use for 2000, so they were off by a decade. Still impressive. There needs to be a 'law' for all 'futurology' and predictions that adjusts the time by a sensible factor after the pred

The sell out means little. Samsung have gained enormous traction in the past few years, showing a clear swing away from Apple, and Android as an OS has done the same against iOS. This is the reason why Apple can't be complacent and just upd

I wouldn't, well actually I don't know. I don't know if my reasons above apply to the companies you listed, it'd be foolish of me to just apply them blindly. And you're a fool for implying that I would.

Seems like you're just going against the grain for the attention. The iPhone 5 is being criticised because of a few things. 1. Apple are known for innovation and inspiring design. The iPhone 5 only innovates with its acceptance of the new 4

If a recruiter wants to give an employer a list of candidates, and logically wants to give info on those candidates all in the same format, then the CV works. Sure it doesn't work as well as LinkedIn profiles, as CVs come in many shapes the
