TL;DR: TIOBE is a horrible way to decide if something is important. TIOBE is a fun conversation generator, but hardly anything to be taken seriously. In 2004, when Google swapped an algorithm, a bunch of TIOBE "rankings" swung ma

Really? Last time I saw a "pro" carry a mac pro to an event was 2006, right after they were released, and it was mainly to show it off. Shortly there after even he realized how stupid it was an got a Macbook Pro (released the sa

I love carrying around my computer with no monitor, no mouse, no keyboard, no power cables and no accessories. I like even more if it is in a delicate housing with an exposed and breakable fan. I think I will throw that in my bag! Screw T

Thanks! I am currently shopping a low-volume on-demand print service... as soon as I went to AmazingMails site and saw "no minimum" I became delighted, will be testing them out this week!

I feel like Xamarin is in the uncanny valley of language / tooling features. Close enough to working to make the brokenness feel so much worse. If it was more raw, less IDE friendly (ala Go) that would be fine... or was more polished

I really wish more articles about frameworks were about the ugly bits. If you do exactly what the framework expects and never go off the reservation, they all are fairly decent. What I want to always know about is what happens in the frame

... how do you know what major web applications are written in? A lot of companies go to some length to obscure this. Also, aren't a lot of rather big names into Python publicly? Disqus, Pinterest, Dropbox, Everbrite, SurveyMonkey..

Effectively what these companies are trying to do via stronger and stronger denials is prove a negative... which of course is borderline useless. Regardless of the truth, to PROVE they were not involved is impossible. For those companies c

There is an outcry against Parse? Seriously? As a back-end engineer, I always thought it was a clever niche product and I was happy (but a bit fearful) when they got acquired by facebook. Nice to see they are still trying to innovate.
