Depending on the source the millennial generation is usually considered to start around 1980-82, making them currently 36-38. Speaking only for myself (age 34) I've seen and heard about many people that I grew up with getting caught u

I'm going by memory here, but IIRC the fastest level of CPU cache (L1) can be accessed in about 2 nanoseconds . Even the slowest level (L3) operates on the order of a few hundred nanoseconds. RAM is slow by comparison, and network lat

I'd actually argue that var makes it easier to read and understand code. Most of the time, an explicit type on a variable declaration is just noise, because it's a repetition of what we already know from the same line of code.

I've worked at places in the past where expense reporting felt broken by design. For example, one employer didn't allow alcohol to be expensed, but they did allow $75 per day for meals, no questions asked (no receipts required)

Roughly 2/3s of the states in the US have “right to work” laws, which basically means that either employer or employee can terminate the job at any time for basically any reason.

It's utterly unrealistic for (IMO) probably 75+% of development jobs. The world runs on mountains of software that isn't sexy and that very few if any people are truly enthusiastic about.

As the other reply said, even if the gun was just triggered for a fraction of a second it's likely that several dozen shells were fired. I'm not sure if NATO uses the same cannon rounds as the US military, but they almost certain
