I never have trouble sleeping when I sleep. But I, like many people in this industry, don't let myself. I'll push myself to work till I'm sleeping at 2, 4, 8am... the ultimate consequences are pretty similar symptoms to those you describe,

It's not that clear cut, but indeed the UK does not have a software patent problem half as bad as the US seems to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_patents#United_Kingdom

Erm, if ever, here is a real candidate for the correlation != causation lesson. I think it would be doing a massive disservice to Google to say that the only reason people use their service is because of personalized search results. Google

They didn't exactly make you get up at 6AM. To be honest even if everything had gone smoothly, it should still be obvious given the hype that everyone individually had only a small chance of getting one from the first 10K batch. And I thi

I'd love to see a mashup of the two. I trialed cr-gpg, works fine, if a bit clunky at the moment. I suspect this is a much better way to interact with gpg though (+ --use-agent, etc.).

That wasn't really sarcasm. It was exaggeration, perhaps. But even then, perhaps it wasn't even that (given enough time).

A slight feeling of disappointment after reading this post (and the linked PDF). Partly because the 'attacks' listed are nothing new (we know eval() is evil), and partly because it's 2011 and people are still writing code like this.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone in this. Early mornings and late nights are both good... but during the typical work day I find it nigh on impossible to really be productive at the office. It reminds me of this talk by Jason Fried, which i

I use Awesome, but it's really not for someone who doesn't want to configure it to their tastes. I use it because unlike alternatives, I can easily configure it to my tastes. It takes time, but in the long run it helps my productivity.

Nasty? In a language without pointers it makes total sense. An index is no longer an offset from an array (or string) pointer, so the first element being 1, the second being 2, just makes more sense. Sure, it's a departure from mainstream l
