I've been playing the beta in a 2009 MBP for a couple of weeks now and everything looks pretty smooth. Question about heat: My wife's MBP (2011) runs what seems to be dangerously hot doing even basic web video and she's worried that D3 wi

I see exactly where you're coming from, and I'm there all the time. It just troubles me that people are so often willing (and eager!) to waste a lot of time doing half-assed manual testing when they claim not to have any time to write tests

Please don't fix this with a technical solution. I can't agree more with wpietri above. There surely is a non-technical problem at play. That isn't to say that you shouldn't try to automate your babysitting, but if your need for babysitti

Most tests (unit, integration, etc.) are triggered when new code is checked in. For other kinds of tests, we use schedule triggers to run them at a particular cadence, either overnight or more frequently if that's what needed. TeamCity is

This sort of story helps restore my confidence in the justice system. Even when stupid (well-meaning, whatever) legislation like this gets passed, it eventually gets challenged and thrown out.

Microsoft (either explicitly or de-facto) owns the Common Language Runtime, the C# language, Entity Framework, ASP.NET, IIS, Windows OS, Windows Phone OS, XBOX, XBOX live, etc. An example that I think of is LINQ (not linq-to-sql, mind you,

Two things cannot become one thing, if they are meaningful. My understanding of it is that the intention isn't to combine the two things, it is to interlace them so the feedback loop between them is as tight and short as possible. Note:
