The Behringer X-air mixer does everything realtime with a lot of processing for 18 channels on a bog standard 400Mhz arm core, no special hardware needed.

I actually use one of those setups semi-regularly made from Xilica hardware. It does what it needs to reasonably well but that's only enableing/disabling some microphones in a converence hall basically. The interface is horrible,

Teensies are very much overkill for a lot of projects. I have gathered a decent amount of random microcontroller boards now and it's just a lot of fun to make them do random things. I have some arduino nano knockoffs to do the really s

The Behringer XAir18 I used as inspiration for this adds an FPGA to the design so it really is fully software defined for the audio path. The only limitation is that behringer doesn't let you control any of it and adds a load of arbitr

The power management model in phones is just radically different than desktops. Android can get a lot of battery life by suspending applications and tightly controlling application resource usage.

Both the package and the index is signed actually. That's why it still works when installing APK files directly

It could be simple, just hook the led to the reset line of the camera and you'll know if the camera is in use. Downside is that the led will blink on boot when linux probes the driver.

So this seems like it's exactly the same as the Librem 5 but renamed, a different eMMC chip and a different RAM chip?

Looks like it's based around the Rockchip RK3308 so it's likely not that bad. I'm sure this ships with some old patched vendor kernel but the SoC is already supported in mainline. I've not gone through the other componen

Windows is a goldmine of horrible translations. Since the introduction of the Windows Fax & Scan tool the dutch translation has the translation "Zoeken" for the button to start the scan. This translates back to "Search&qu

You don't even need the cell towers. You need _very_ good gps reception though, so outside without tall structures nearby. Then you have the issue that you need to keep the GPS active enough to keep the almanac updated. Which is usuall

You don't need a third party, you just need to check your network traffic. The issue is that this request is not sent very often because this data is valid pretty long. But it's basically just fetching https://xtrapath4

That's not a list of things allegedly sent. That's a list the lawyers put in a legal document to not get sued in case it happens.

I went with 19" rack gear [1] instead of Series 500. As mic I use an SM57 which is fed into a DBX 286 compressor/de-esser/gate/enhancer and that signal is going to the videoconferencing application and is looped back int

If it's supported that would require buying the propriatary usb cable for this camera sadly. And I'd have to have the computer nearby.

That would make everything lit with the flashes look way too yellow. also it wouldn't make it a perfectly FFFFFF white mask around the board.

So far has not been needed. With the lens I'm using and the amount of light I can stop it down to f/8 and not have issues with blurry parts. For the macro pictures of components I need to look into focus stacking if I want to have

The issue with this is you need flat PCBs due to the depth of field of a flatbed scanner. Even in that article they had to remove components from it. That's quite annoying since most of the boards I have have stacked USB connectors.

Software support for the PinePhone is quite decent, but only if you count it as a feature phone mostly. It just doesn't have the battery life to act as an "connected 100% of the time on all platforms" device. Especially if yo
