+1 for plain text accounting. I'm using hledger^[0] to track my finances. I do use the web UI to submit information but I edit the plain text store extensively. [0]: https://hledger.org/

I'm working on a new programming language that compiles to the JVM. It's statically typed and structural. Still in the very first steps of it but it's Turing complete and I've just nearly finished adding structs (custom

I wanted a static site generator[0] in the Node.js ecosystem but without React. Or, that's what I told myself- I really just wanted to build a static site generator for fun. Really enjoyed working on it and it's feature-complete e

A slight tangent but I interned at Blubrry as a software engineer a few summers back. Was a great experience!

Interpreters usually execute by walking the abstract syntax tree at runtime, bytecode VMs usually execute actual bytecode similar to machine code. The bytecode for such VMs is often way simpler than the instruction set for an actual compute

Stride seems cool I'll have to check it out. There are a lot of "C# Unity like engines" but this seems more polished than most.

This is very interesting. I've seen similar peer to peer work with the DAT browser but this looks like it works in existing browsers. I'll definitely be checking it out.

This does seem to be a very short list of rejections from my perspective as a current CS student at a decent state university in the US. During applications season in the fall it's not uncommon for my peers to apply to between 20 and 1

I'm working on designing and implementing a new programming language right now. Most of my work is for the web platform (be it frontend or backend) so this is a nice break. One of the more "back to CS fundamentals" projects I

Currently Robinhood won't send me my tax forms from 2020. I have a trivial amount of money in the account but it's the only thing preventing me from filing taxes yet. Everything else has been ready since early March.
