Apple was nowhere near a tech giant when the iPhone was introduced. Facebook was a student's project. Consumer tech innovation just doesn't happen in Europe, I think that's the real issue Europe should be tackling, given how

With these legislations, I always wonder how the lawmakers come up with timeframes like 6 months. Who is to say this implementation doesn't take, say, a year? I doubt lawmakers have the technological know how to estimate such a project

Well, ISO C++ is a standard, and the standard being finished does not mean the implementation being finished. Also, modules is probably one of the biggest changes in terms of work required in build systems, compilers and tooling since at le

In democracies, usually it's up to the population to decide what favors the population best. Also, in democracies with a somewhat free market, you can simply choose not to buy phones that do not ship the port you prefer.

Lol, have you ever been to Europe? iPhones are definitely considered premium and there definitely are networks that are more expensive but offer better reception. In Germany, that would be Telekom, in Switzerland, it's Swisscom.

Someone paying for a premium phone is probably also inclined to pay for a premium mobile network.

Choosing not to sympathize with the reality of most C++ devs is up to you, you've made it very clear that you refuse to acknowledge my point. No need to get snarky.

Germany's largest party, the CDU/CSU union, has already announced that they intend to revoke the law ("make cannabis illegal again"). It is only a matter of time until they run the state again, and I'd say whether t

I can't think of a law that would allow landlords to enforce that in a rental contract. Renting is heavily regulated in Germany. Consumption is different, but the new law is very specific in what is allowed and what isn't, and an
