That would be very inefficient, and I also doubt that the build-in 12V DC-DC converter is capable providing the current required to run the inverter. So, since it requires retrofitting anyway, it would make much more sense to have an invert

I don't think that that is true. The inverters are designed for power and cost efficiency, so I'd say it is unlikely that are capable at outputting anything other than the high-voltage, high-frequency power intended for the electr

This is pretty cool! But I found little challenge in this simulation. Basically just correct your roll, pitch and yaw, then steer towards the target. Slow down at the end. The easter eggs are fun though!

Funny, for me it was the other way around. Windows 10 was the reason for me to switch back from Linux to Windows, due to WSL. I hate the ads and build in tracking like any other, but in the end this is my work laptop and I need to get the j

Samsung has a pretty good track record of pushing security updates, even to old phones. They are also pretty open about CVEs and security patches: https://security.samsungmobile.com/

I know someone who does that too, it is totally bonkers to me that she flies twice a week just to get to an office in a different country. She also told me (before the virus already) that she really doesn't need to be there, she could

I did a quick peek at the patches the OP is referring to, the code seems definitely experimental (no hard feelings towards the authors though!). As far as I am aware of how the Linux kernel is structured, these patches would have to be subm

The key bindings are the least of your worries when trying to run Linux on a Mac... But FWIW: on Linux key bindings are always completely customizable.

Don't even bother. I have an X1E and the whole dual GPU situation is still a mess under Linux. Of course it depends on your use-case, but stuff like running external displays or using fractional scaling on the 4k internal display never

Lenovo X1E is a laptop... So removing the GPU will be a bit of a challenge ;) I thought of turning the GPU off under Linux, but external displays (through the thunderbolt port) can only be used with the nVidia GPU. I need external displays

Looking through the features Gnome 3.36 - X11 fractional scaling. I got all excited, because this means that now finally Ubuntu will be usable on my Lenovo X1E with High-DPI display. But then further down below: Fractional scal

That was exactly my point: not everyone cares about that. For many (most?) people the main factor in life is happiness. If you like your job, and it pays good enough, then why invest all the work into a future job that may pay better? Als

It takes a certain discipline to do that. Not everyone has that discipline, and not everyone cares about being the '10x engineer'. Especially not when they work a 9-5 job which pays the same regardless of being a 1x or 10x. I have

FWIW: In the 2020.1 updates that have been rolled out in the last week the SSH support is now much better. But serious question though: what workflow do you have that remote code editing is necessary?

Ctrl-alt-L (cmd-alt-L) is my all-time favorite. It reformats the code consistently. It's the first thing I do when I start work on a new codebase, and the last thing I do before a commit. No need for endless discussions on which style
