It says send support is 'coming soon' on the website, so expectations are already set for those paying for this service.

Gmail already is free storage, AFAIK it shares you data quota with you Google drive account. Most likely this is a 'mail-loop' prevention. If you setup two accounts that forward to each other, then emails will be stuck in an infin

This service should come with a big fat warning that the emoji email addresses should never be used for anything remotely serious. Running an email service is not, by any means, a 'tiny project'. I would never pay, nor rely on an

What would the incentive be for the truck owner to install the device? How much weight will this add to the vehicle? How big is the device? How often does the truck driver have to 'empty' the device? How are you planning to set up

I'm not a chemist, but I'm sure there are many here on HN. AFAIK hydrogen mixed with oxygen ranges from 'highly flammable' to 'highly explosive'. Wouldn't hydrogen cars (or any hydrogen power for that matt

AFAIK it's because the hydrogen must be stored under very high pressure. So you need a expensive and potentially noisy compressor to do so.

As an electrical engineering student I designed and build my own processor (in VHDL), and wrote a simple assembler for it, it's not that difficult, just tedious. Eventually I added a VGA frame buffer, PS/2 keyboard module and RS-2

For keyless entry, cars are always transmitting. They look for a response of a key. In case of my car, if a keys comes close enough, it lights up the doors and doorhandles.

It's not that uncommon actually. Even at my car dealership this is a common problem. A couple hundred cars with the same keyless entry system parked in the same lot. All those cars are actively scanning for their key fob, which causes

There is nothing 'mysterious' about this, this is just how radios work. Neither does it have to be malicious. Most car key fobs work in the 433MHz range, if there is something in the area transmitting at said frequency, it will c

The billion dollar valuations of silicon valley startups may cloud your judgement a bit. 220 mil is a lot. Most companies won't be worth this much. Except for the US, guns are mostly sold to governments (policy, military) so the gun ma

Back in 2010 I had my first embedded programming job. I needed to do some network programming in C (controlling a PLC over ethernet). My boss at the time told me "just read Beej's guide and you'll be fine". He was right.

Current battery tech can already deliver enough charge/discharge current to act as a momentary power boost for combustion engines. Many hybrid systems act this way, providing additional acceleration and/or torque filling (i.e. del

The grid is never exactly 50Hz, it varies quite significantly. On the long run, the grid operators try to average to 50Hz as close as possible, just so that clocks continue to operate somewhat accurate. In fact, it is even in the FAQ of the
