Maybe. Apple has solved the chicken and egg problem regarding software compatibility by forcing everyone to move on to ARM in the near future. Microsoft will not abandon x64 though, so there are far less incentives to port things. Also Micr

I disagree, driving is cheap in Switzerland. It's cheaper than public transports unless you really want to drive that Porsche Cayenne in Geneva and your employer pays for your GA.

Already exists. A friend has his expensive bike with this system stolen, he tracked it back a few months down the road when it was found by a receiver.

I think modern cmake mostly has the right ideas, but the overall implementation is poor, mainly due to legacy.

Wasn't it only after the first year? That meant you could try it for free which is huge for adoption.

I am not sure it is a problem for most people though, if anything I believe most people would not like the alternative. If the choice is between being tracked, which results in many things being free (as in beer) with otherwise almost no pr

When I had roommates, one only wanted to use services A, B, ... and another one C, D, ... with no intersection between the 2 sets. So we had 2 group chats on two different services and we had to transfer messages from one to the other. I do

Football/soccer? Of course there are more players than coaches so they can't all become coaches, but I would say star players are expected to become coaches, and lots of them do.

I've had the same issue twice, but it worked fine for me. I just filled the form on the login page, and after a couple of days I received an email telling me 2-fa has been disabled. The only issue I had was that 2-fa was only temporari

Conversely, I have only seen arrays being used, and never linked lists/hash maps in the few embedded code bases I have worked on.

Yeah, it's not that common in general, I agree. I think my impression was coloured by the fact I tried Zig to implement a binary protocol deserialiser where getting the size first then iterating happened a lot.

You can do: { var it = a.getSomeIterable(); while (it.next()) |item| { ... } } { var it = b.getSomeIterable(); while (it.next()) |item| { ... } }

Honestly, I know it's minor, but when I tried Zig the fact I couldn't do the classic for loop to do a "for (int i = 0; i < n; ++i)" was quite annoying. It pollutes the scope, so you need to add scope braces every time

It's not that wrong though, you could certainly argue that not much has changed since roughly the end of WW2 and "mainstream" oceanic crossings. The de Havilland Comet was introduced in 1949 and is very similar to modern jetl

I don't know, it kinda makes sense to have the reviews for phone (blue) in the phone (red) page. It's not like the colour is a major part of the product (in the sense that most reviews won't be about the colour, not that it i

Assassination of whom? The result isn't exactly discreet, it's not going to be used locally to target inconvenient persons in the UK. If we're talking about conflicts, then I don't see how it's better or worse than

I'd say a part is that the violence is turned toward competition, not emotion. Who's going to win the fight? The emotion part is toned down. Rape on the other hand is mostly emotion.

What makes the air too slow to get out of the way? I would have naively thought friction, and that if everything was frictionless the air would seamlessly move to replace the vacuum behind the aircraft, and thus no compression would occur.

I assume it's just that some places are quite cheap, if you're fine with living in council flat from the 60s in a poor neighborhood. From what I can find, minimum wage is around €1500/m, before taxes.
