I am pretty sure it's tongue-in-cheek humor. The idea of a file format apologist is silly, a Hitler apologist not so much.

It's about retaliation and legal issues. The guy could easily retaliate with a smear campaign or even take legal action saying he was "hacking" or doing "espionage". Whistleblowing often has negative consequences fo

There were plenty of cheerleaders back in the late 90s too, saying it's just the beginning. Most of the social companies have yet to really show they can be profitable other than being bought out. Valuations are often grossly overinfla

I wouldn't put British media on too high of a pedestal. Churning out inspector/detective crime drama swill is one of their specialties. Many of these are about as creative as an episode of Law & Order, some less so.

Well that is one thing to your advantage then. If you really have other strong potential options to making money outside of software, then I'd suggest you do that now, and continue to improve your technical side in the meantime. Succes

Get your resume spruced up. If you don't have actual work experience, create a list of personal projects and describe how you made them. Put as much information on major job sites like Monster, SimplyHired, Indeed, Dice,etc.. It's

Customer service & tech support departments often suffer from broken communication and lack of resources. I'd rather resources be devoted to improving communication and documentation between customer service and other departments.
