Yes, absolutely. The other thing to note is that you cannot roast two different beans “the same way”. They do not roast the same. You could roast two to the same degree (same final temperature, or final color), but the way that two wildly d

Even if they limit it to $3, which is much better, you can still do slimy things like process the large transaction first (say, a mortgage payment), then process all the little transactions afterwards, stacking overdraft fees for each one.

Speed limit signs are much larger, and much clearer than license plates. Anecdotally, speed limit signs are detected quite a distance away in my Model 3. Certainly much greater than 1 car length.

There’s plenty of free bank accounts. Almost every bank offers them, too, or they’re free with stuff that the “average” person would do (ie, have 2 direct deposits per month). Overdrafts are another story, many bank accounts allow overdraft

The current resolution of the cameras on the HW3 systems is 1.2 megapixels. HW4 is 5 megapixels. So, less than 1080p per camera for most of the Tesla cars is HW3. 1280x960, I believe. Not sure why reading license plates is a meaningful indi

Sure, I’d agree, but the report is that they asked if they were in a collision. Seems like some better reporting to ask if they were ok (and not assume a collision) would be better.

Interestingly, based on the title of this article, I thought this would be discussing automated emergency braking systems that are standard on most cars, not the “what happens when you stop paying attention with adaptive cruise control, and

Has nothing to do with NACS; there’s a decent amount of superchargers in Canada or in Alaska, and I’ve never heard reports of issues of the chargers freezing over so they’re unusable.

They have superchargers with fluid in them that work in much colder conditions. It seems that this is either this is Tesla choosing the wrong coolant mix for the climate (or, they got caught flat footed by the extreme weather that day), or

If you discharge the high voltage battery to 0, you’ve got much bigger problems than potentially needing to replace the low voltage battery. Leaving the high voltage battery at 0 is terrible for it as well, which is much more expensive to r

But I don’t need aesthetics, because I don’t need hardware at all. Your phone should be able to do this already, with the added benefit of already having all your apps that you use connected in the first place.

Rabbit R1 is an interesting idea, but in practice I don’t see how it’s the killer solution here. It seems like a feature that should be built into existing ecosystems, not a standalone device. I’m not sure what moat they’ve created here tha

They’re less than electric equivalents because the battery is substantially smaller, and batteries are essentially the biggest cost in an EV. Assembled pack pricing is still around $100-120/kWh and even smaller batteries are like 65kWh

Is it? Nobody wants a car with only 150mi range especially if it’s your only car. Any gas car these days easily hits 300, or even 400mi comfortably. To actually replace your only car it feels like 250++ is essentially mandatory. Not everyon

While I agree with you, you can find 384 kHz 32-bit playback available on many of their LG cell phones as a marketing feature. Does it matter? No. Does it exist, even in consumer electronics? Yes.

The “normal” way to support 25W would be to support 9V 3A input, giving 27W adapters functionality. Or possibly accept multiple options such as 9, 12, and 15, and then buck any of those down to the system voltage needed. The 5V5A is because

Why so aggressive? I didn’t make any claims other than less than USB2. And for reference, I was assuming 384 kHz, 32 bit depth, which would be 196 Mbps at 16 channels. You cannot even do 32 channels over USB2 which would be the next logical

The solar panels merely existing on the top of the roof are probably enough to offset the additional power gained while sitting still. The drag from a little cargo carrier on top of a Tesla is significant.

Modern inverter based heat pumps are perfectly fine to oversize. Since you can adjust the speed of the compressor, you just run the compressor slower if you want to 'undersize' it. There's little downside aside from cost to o

Drug usage and whatever Epstein was up to are not the same thing. Also, I read the article. Illegal drug usage is a violation of federal law, too, but that doesn’t mean anyone is truly at risk, especially someone like Musk.

This is purely a semantic difference. If you travel once or twice a year beyond the standard EV range, then by definition it’s an edge case. Assuming you take one trip a day, then you’re literally only hitting that case 2/365 days. Obv

Yes, assuming you always keep eating 500cal over your burn rate. Your body will adapt over time and try to burn more calories to compensate for some of that, some purely just by having additional fat, but you would continue to gain weight.

1.15V isn't that high. Most CPUs may idle at ~0.9V but when running full power, they throttle up much higher. Overclocking the modern Ryzen 7000 series seems to top out at ~1.2V. If this giant wafer isn't on the absolute latest p

The 80% derating only applies to 'continuous loads' which are defined by NEC to be anything >3 hours continuously at maximum current. Any circuit breaker will not trip at the rated current, though. They're designed not to.
