At some point the value proposition makes sense. People buy non repairable 2D printers all the time. Also, as the other commenter noted, they actually are quite repairable. Bambu offers pretty much every part you could imagine and at prices

The way they describe the active chamber management in their blog post is basically to say “the enclosure allows it to reach temps as high as 55C, but you can keep it enclosed and drop the temperature so you can print PLA and PETG”. There m

Frankly, the only advantage I see from a spec list for the Core One is a chamber exhaust (not heater, just exhaust). Compared to a P1P it’s missing a camera. Compared to the X1C it’s missing a camera, the LiDAR, and carbon rods. Also, the A

The Core One doesn’t have chamber heating, it just has chamber exhaust. Not the same thing.

The better comparison is a Core One vs a P1S/P1P. You can almost buy two P1 printers for the price of a Core One.

Prior to Bambu, prusa was as close as you could get to “put it together and it’s ready to print” including printer profiles and such. Bambu did this cheaper and better, and much faster, so basically took that entire market from Prusa. For a

Even if you don’t want mopping, the pathing and speed at which it actually cleans a house vs the ones with LIDAR are comically different. It also has trouble getting itself out of small crevices or tight spaces vs the competition. I know, c

iRobot hasn’t been competitive in the robot vacuum space for many years. Tons of other manufacturers have eclipsed them for less money or more upscale with substantially better features. Roborock, Dreame, Narwal, Eufy, to name a few. Roomba

If your skin is dry enough it won’t make good contact with the screen so the “picture” will be bad. Adding a thin layer of oil basically acts as an optical transmission layer. Ultrasonic ones would probably have the same issue, honestly.

Unless you’re driving a very high end car, pretty much any ICE definitely vibrates. It’s especially noticeable at start/stop with cars equipped with auto start stop. Also, the older the car, the more you’ll start getting weird smells a

Third party ones are almost certainly not as good as the actual Apple ones. The Apple one has remarkably good quality for its price. I suspect this sounds like a problem with your specific phone. Never had a problem with any lightning acces

Or just buy the actual Apple adapter from any number of other vendors. Best Buy still has plenty in stock, for instance. I'd guess the GPs actual problem is lint in the Lightning port though. Pretty common, relatively easy to clean out

Why can't you just put Linux on the Macbook then? Most 12-15 year old laptops are not capable of running the current version of Windows, either, and have major vulnerabilities.

Ford does this on the MachE and I think the F150L. They have a rotary dial for volume control and that is just mounted directly to the touch screen and uses some sort of wipers to make contact for the control surface.

Low voltage battery death in any EV essentially causes a brick. The only exception is some cars (I think Tesla does this?) keep their contactors closed all the time when the 12v is determined to be failing. It makes the drain at idle much h

You’re not hearing what I’m saying. I’m saying that Qualcomm historically has supported more advanced 4g and 5g standards that allow them to achieve faster modem rates. Whether that’s true today I’m not sure, but it was definitely true back

There’s so many sub varieties of the standards. You’re making a gross oversimplification that they’re “the same”. Compare intel vs Qualcomm modems that were released on iPhones. They were “the same” standard but the Qualcomm modems were not

They’re open standards, sure, but there is almost no competition in the cellular modem space. Intel tried and failed spectacularly. Apple bought the scraps of the Intel modem business and still hasn’t released their own modems after… 5 year
