Nice! I hope a lot of the major VPS providers end up supporting it like Digital Ocean or Linode, etc. Shame many of them you just can't just upload your own ISO. I have a project idea I been toying with and my plan was to use CentOS as

Wow. Disappointing! Wonder if we should trust other Red Hat projects? Like I think podman is cool if I were building my own PaaS type system.

I would think air gapped networks probably ran Linux. But I know I heard once some nuclear power uses Windows, looks like that's in Japan. Kind of doubt people are using Macs in that sort of environment, other than maybe a client machi

Yeah, that's what I was thinking from the title too. I guess it's because of the activation lock feature, no different than a iPhone or iPad.

Apple going to ARM for the M1 is interesting, wonder how it might shift the server market... As a developer who might want to target both, wonder if any decent ARM VPSes? Scaleway had ARM Dedis but quit offering that it seems. AWS has some

I thought this was common place in California since they are a may issue instead of a shall issue state. Remember like 3 years back coming across a YouTube video on this, someone wanted a list of permit holders and how much they donated. Bu

I really wish they'd start prosecuting copyright trolls to the fullest extent of the law. Sure you can download this and download music videos, but there's legal cases such as downloading a political campaign ad, and using small p

Wonder if this is because the concern of a delay for counting the results? I wonder if true it might take days or even weeks to find out who won... so I could see suspending it while waiting for results. This is surely an election and year

I always kinda thought multiple providers in the same area would be a logistical and technical challenge, could t eh share the same lines? Like Comcast and Charter both providing cable as a option to the same house.

Yeah seems going electric just shifts things but maybe they are also hoping the tech and cheaper happens by then. Seems like right now they’d be pushing out the middle and lower class people even more, making California some elite state onl

Yeah seen that, not too well up on all this. Sounds like they are talking about converting their account. I guess maybe a lot of people aren't up on this sort of stuff or aware of all their options unless maybe they went to college to

I was wondering if that includes retirement accounts and checked it, looks like they consider that too. I know someone recently decided cash out their retirement account, sorta panicking with the market going down due to COVID, was stressfu

I know recently with COVID states were looking for COBOL people to work on older systems like unemployment and others. Wonder if something like this could let them write a more modern system but just copy and paste some of the business logi

Reminds me of reading an article talking about how Walmart used to lock people in who worked the night shift like stocking shelfs. Seems like Walmart was doing this in the early 2000s, there's an article from 2004 in the New York Times

Reminds me of how some games or other sites had an image you could put in your forum signatures. I think Steam had one or some third party built it. Would show like the games you were playing and if in game and not... I think Skype and MSN

Wonder if maybe it has less dependencies, that would be a win. like for example on Mac you need cairo pango libpng jpeg giflib librsvg for Node Canvas. So got to note it down for devs to put on their machines, and then remember to also add

I think it sounds crazy the gov wants to tax people when earned but also tax their savings 1% yearly. There's debates that it's unconstitutional so that's why it hasn't happened due to the uncertainty. I think if a singl
